Thank you sir, it is getting there
Stayed up last night making side mirrors and a tail light
Then got side tracked fixing up an old Tamiya Corsair that was sitting abandoned in the garage.......short attention span or what

Made the rear rotors with help from this tutorial
http://italianhorses.net/Tutorials/Brak ... brakes.htm
Painted the insides before gluing together and painted the black ring
Trued them up on my "lathe"
And then the mirrors

Can you even see the rear rotors hiding in there??
Done for the night

Wow, thank you Antonio
I actually had a little blush when I read that
I am my worst critic and feel it ain't all that good so I appreciate the kind words
I could point out tons of little stuff I don't like.....let's just say wait 24 hrs minimum before manhandling painted objects large or small; get stuff perfectly symmetrical or your OCD will pester you to remake them and on and on.
But this is a fun quickie build and I am not going to stress about it, I have given myself the two weekends to finish the car and now a week for a little dio and fini

So this is where I am thinking of going with the diorama
Background pic options
Then add in an old CD case for a base, some grass and some sandpaper track

The mock up

Refined a bit more
Would put a pole through the CD base and into the base of the car so it won't slide off
Waddya think??? Any thoughts???

I was poking through the Tamiya kit I showed here that I got from E Bay last year
Find I am missing wheels and all suspension parts. A whole sprue set is just not there
I clearly didn't evaluate it well enough when it came
Don't tell anyone, but I ordered the 1/20 JohnPlayerSpecial Lotus on the weekend

I am not buying anymore kits, really
Oops, found the missing sprues in another Tamiya Lotus I have stored at work...remembered that my son was fiddling with the kits so I checked and sure enough found them

Messing around with the CD base
I CA glued the snot out of the cover and set it propped into an open L position to act as the support for the background photo
Then a little checkered flag 'skirt'
I will have her all done for the weekend, I hope

Little Thursday night sneaky time at the bench
Brass pin CA glued into base, matching hollow sleeve glued into base of car
They have a good friction fit, so car is very stable but still removable
I can hold it upside down and the car stays put
I haven't pushed it all the way down to let the glue fully set

Thanks Easy
It is a reasonable way to secure a model to it's base so you don't have it rolling off and smashing....that sucker is really on there, I can hold the dio upside down and the car doesn't budge a mm
