Hi Guys
Update time
So its on with the weathering of this bird. 1st up is the wash and i'll be using Ultimate light dirt as this aircraft flew from a dusty area of the far east.
and with it applied just wait for it to dry then wipe off with a damp kitchen paper in the direction of airflow.
There we are
To the exhaust i dry brushed some silver then added some mig rust coloured pigments.
Next up is I'll be using a technique borrowed from the armored guys an oil dot filter? i think its called has you can see i have masked one lot of fabric in the wing to replicate a newer part.
I'll be using these cheap oils
on a bit of card to draw the linseed oil out a bit.
then i just dot it randomly over the flat surfaces.
And with this or white spirit we blend it in with a fairly wide brush.
And hopefully you can see some tonal variation.
next up are pastels i got these for about a fiver from the works i think.
and with the back of a knife i just scrape some of on to some kitchen paper.
and we are left with pastel powder.
which can be used for exhaust stains using a small brush.
it can also be used to add dirt to panel lines just add it and remove it to tone it down where required.
when i get back down south I'll put on a matt varnish and take another look at her.
as always guys thanks for looking.

Oh yes Nigel!
Top drawer stuff. Did you do the oil filter over a gloss cote? I tried it on my 109 but I couldn't get it right...
