I do love those ties over the X-wings any day. Great job on them.

Thanks for the comments guys!

I think I'll skip the turrets as I would need to make the trench even wider and that would mean a lot more tiles and I just got the final 16 done. There is about 3.5-4 kg of resin and micro balloons, and that is just the bottom of the trench, I skipped the wall.

For Arduinos that easiest to start with is the Uno model as it's the one that's easiest to program, you don't need to hook up any wires or time pressing buttons and such, just click upload and it's done. While the board I used you need to have a Uno, remove the processor connect some wires so it's a bit more work to not mess it up, the benefit is that the board is a lot smaller. When it comes to programming the software has a lot of examples that can be modified pretty easy and there are good explanations for each program on arduino.cc.

Have finally started building the base, started with cutting three pieces of wood. The reason for making it in three parts is so I can move it if I need, this way there will be one part with the TIEs, one with the X-Wings and one empty. Then I started to glue on the tiles in a somewhat random order, I just made sure that I didn't have two of the same tiles next to each other.

And a quick test with the TIEs and a stand in X-Wing from a couple of years ago.

Last thing for today was to put down a coat of flat black primer from a spray can. As it is now I'm building this at my summer house as I can't fit it on my workbench (kitchen table) so I won't be able to do anything on the base until next weekend. So the plan is try to finish the x-wings until then and try to get the last things done next weekend.

The base is pretty much done, simply dusted a few coats of light grey over the black. Did a few more coats from one direction to get a bit of a shadow effect.

So now it's just a matter of finishing the X-wings and putting all the ships in place, really need to get that done during the next weekend.

Thanks!

I'm calling the X-wings done now, added one more wash and then some pigments. So now the only thing left is to mount all the ships on the base and it's done.
