Chris
I wanted to try the Alclad aqua metal paint.
Okay.

getting close to the end now
I've swapped the kit tyres for some resin ones, the resin wheels are for a Mosquito but I think they'll do
first off I sprayed Tamiya XF-85 rubber black

next I painted the hub 'sky grey' and the tyre tread Tamiya XF-24 dark grey

after a gloss coat I used Ultimate mud

… and finally Ultimate light dirt
Now the propellors need work, here's how they started

my first attempt was a little over the top...

…so I resprayed the black and had a 2nd attempt at it
my cat decided that propellor was on her lunch menu
I've changed her name from "Willow" to "cooking fat" !!!
next I'll be applying washes and weathering
until then
as always, any suggestions or comments will be gratefully received.

Did you weather the rear face of the prop? That's where most of the wear occurred on real propellors.

I didn't know that

however I have added similar chipping to the rear of them

so I've used Ultimate light dirt on the upper surfaces
and Ultimate dark dirt (original) on the underside
I also stole a technique from Garry Bottoms of allowing the Ultimate washes to evaporate and then use the remaining clay(?) to dry-brush stains. I also used some Windsor & Newton ink (burnt sienna) and some of the MiG engine wash for additional stains
here's some close-ups
these additional stains aren't so noticeable in real life, for some reason the photos make them more pronounced?
so all I have to do is to give it another coat of flat varnish and then fit the few remaining bits'n'pieces such as fit the undercarriage, props, pitot, ariels and navigation lights
until then
as always, any suggestions or comments will be gratefully received.
