Tried the damp paper towel method to remove some of the wash, but with all the raised detail, the paper towel broke away in very fine bits which would stick to the helicopter, doh!
So for half a day!!! I would use a brush, dip it in water, and literally recoat the entire helicopter with water until the wash started fade and wash away, some areas more washed than others to give some detail variation etc. I took time and patience, really happy with the end result. I used a small amount of clay and the plastic backing from a piece of foam tape for the pod cover. Clear matt coat, and we are done!
