Global Scale Modeller

So I painted the edge of these "glass" parts by combining Tamiya X23 and X25 - clear blue and clear green - and it added a visual sense of thickness.

I'd like to say I am nearly done, but this little amount took me two more hours, at this rate I should get this finished just in time for my now eight year old son's graduation from college.





Here they are in place.

I may be very close to the end here, some final weathering, a dry run of the whole project and I should be good. Spent over seventy hours on this thus far! Here is what I managed to finish last night and this morning - one very complex hatch:

Just about done here - I have put everything together here so I can just kind of get a feel for the model and see if I have missed anything like the missing antennas, both rear sprocket gears need to be weathered, maybe some brown plants, etc...

My original idea was to have a Humvee and it would have looked something like this:




But I am not going with the Humvee at all.
As such I think it looks somewhat unbalanced - as there is a huge empty space.

Yet, here it is now:











Thanks for looking guys - I think I'll only have one more post on this build form - after the finial touches, and mostly of the tank only - then I should be done...

Love it more with a hummer though. you're right that it needs something.
I'd add the hummer anyway, screw the rivet counters... It looks good haha.

I think you're right, I'll throw the Humvees on there and at a future date I'll replace it with something else - don't have any builds I am doing now so maybe I could get an MRAP or a different Humvee in there before this build is over.

Here we go weathered the rear gear, pigments added to stowage, and Antanas added. I might be done here - maybe!




Every thing matches up color wise.

My M1 is a POS (mainly Trumpeter's fault...but, I'll take some of the blame). Had a whole dio in my mind, now I just wanna get the tank finished and move on

I used a Krylon Grey Primer - then I had this really cheep craft black paint - (like $1.95 for a pint) mixed with white until I got the color I was looking for - and the tile grout just brushed on to the level I wanted - turned out way better than I could have ever hoped. You can see in my thread (page 5) that I laid that road down in parts to get those big cracks, and those cracks were the areas I started with the dirt.

Looks fantastic! That white stuff is just standard tile grout?! wow!

sorry if I wasn't clear on this, the White stuff is DAS (clay) same stuff I used in the Heil the Hunters build - even took a picture of the package there - thread is here; http://www.intscalemodeller.com/viewtop ... 5&start=20

Brill idea to use the transparent paint to add depth to the glass, I'll be nicking that if you don't mind. Stunning build all round. Not only that, you drink IPA. My kind of guy.

I Recommend each and every one of those IPAs!

Actually on my next build I am going to move away from the transparent paint to a green color sharpie, near as I can tell it renders the same effects, just no mess and you have more control.
