Tail decals done this evening. Didn't realise I needed to paint the top white until I already had the checkerboard decal half off the backing...let's call it "low-vis" looks okay to me regardless.

These Model Alliance decals respond really well to setting solution but are pretty fragile too. I'll use the kit stencils for sure.

Those cockerels came as 2 layers for some reason.

Two layer decals are made just to piss us modellers off... :wall: Your bird (don't want to use the other word in this sentence) turned out fine at least. :thumb2:

Yesterday I had to stay off work to look after a poorly 1-year-old who spent most of the day sleeping, which meant I had loooooads of time to crack on with the stencils on this thing. Got quite a lot done - just need to finish the walkway markings and that's it! Man, those things are fiddly! Should get them done over the weekend.

All decalling completed while watching last night's live show. Gave it a coat of gloss this morning.

Looking sharp. I really like how the flaps came out.

Thanks guys!

This past few days I've been using Mig Ammo panel liner to dirty it up a bit. I used the medium grey colour which worked quite well. Will seal it all in with a flat varnish next week hopefully.

Also, the landing gear has been added! The nose weight seems to have been heavy enough.

This morning I got a couple of matt coats done, before fixing the Skyflash missiles to the underside. Very close to being done now!

Another quick photo update, as I got all the bits and pieces glued in place and then unmasked the canopy. I'm worried about one of the landing gear legs, it doesn't seem as solid as the other two.

Been away on holiday for a week (Portugal - cold, wet and windy) so haven't done much more to this, although I did finish scratch-building the FOD covers for the intakes. As shown in an earlier update I made the basis of the covers from a piece of paper card, which I have now covered with red insulating tape to look more like the real thing. Finished off with a thin strip of red and white striped decal, which I cut from the checkerboard decal intended for the 56 Squadron markings.

Finally I gave them a bit of a wash with Ultimate Dark Dirt.

Mate, that looks very smart. Love the way that you've got the decals to look painted on.
Gorgeous build and a cool build thread.
