Painting started.

Green first as decided it was the main colour.
Haven't put too many layers down as don't want to wipe out the pre shading when the brown goes on.

Pretty happy with the transition on the back not quite how I would have liked it but first time trying so pretty pleased. (Might go back in with the grey at the end to smarten it up alittle.)

Going to leave it for tonight as pretty tired and want to be freshers for doing the brown patches free hand.

That looks like a really great start Gupp.
I'd agree with you about tightening up that one spot but you got the rest I think.

Well your all going to have to wait for the wiggly bits

Brown on the paint guide called for RLM 62 which is another green but didn't like it so mixed up a brown.
Decided not to do any more layers of green as I quite like the mottled effect.

And de masked!

Not sure about the hard edge parts but long way to go yet so hopefully will tone down a fair bit by the end.

Thinking maybe pushing myself too far with this one but going to see it through to the end

The soft edge looks great mate. And the hard edge like you said should tone down with all the other bit that you need to do mate.

So after a lazy day yesterday I'm back to working on this.

Tidied up the grey on the back and I've done the green wiggles on the underside.

Not as small or many as the reference but Im pretty hwppy so far.

Taking a small break and on to the upper wiggles.

Right so I've done the last colour and not really happy with it.

Went over with a green glaze which helped a little.

In two minds about what too do either finish it as is and notch it up to experience (Finish might look better)

Or strip and start over though not really keen on that.

Anyway let me know what you guys think.

Cheers dude. Yeah I'm sure once varnish and wash is done that will do it also the markings should hopefully break it up a bit.

Im trying to think of a way you could dull just the white, hopefully as you say itll break it all up a tad.

Thanks still not sure but the paint finish is growing on me.

Hannant's and Models R Go both have an awesome selection.
One or two sets and you'll be set for a whole whack of models across a few scales.

Yeah still weird a high altitude torpedo bomber is just plain silly but as a plane she looks really cool.

Hoping to get most of the decals on tonight using micro sol this time over the Revell decal soft I normally use and seems to do the job much better.

Right so finished all the decals on the upper surfaces and if you don't use it BUY MICRO SOL! this stuff is awesome makes decal-ling so much easier

Need to let these set and then crack on with the underside though not as many as the upper.

Last of the decals done.

Alot less than the upper surfaces.
Once these have set on to Klear coat to seal them in and start on the weathering

The decals went on well a couple of the big ones did try to curl on me but no major issues.

Just got the gloss top coat on so will be able to start weathering tonight.

Well I cracked on with this and am pleased to say FINISHED!!!!

First I did the normal pin-ish wash

Then left this for a couple of hours and cleaned it up.

Added some depth not too noticeable on the upper surfaces but really helped on the lower.

For weathering I kept it minimal on this one as I wanted a newer aircraft.
A few chips on the hinges and a bit of exhaust staining.
Also used some pigment on the wheels as this would most likely be based in a field somewhere in Germany.

So on to the finished article.

And with my growing 1/48 air-force.

This one was a challenge for me and nearly broke me doing the camo but I pretty pleased that I finished it as the end result while not exact to the paint guide is recognisable as it.

And a big thanks for your support through this build and all your comments and feedback.

Will get some nice outdoor pics when I can weather permitting for the gallery.

Yeah came out well in the end toned down nicely.

I'd recommend this kit no issues to report on the build.

I've got a Eduard 190 that will have to be built at some point.

Cheers buddy was a good build and most importantly fun.

Next aircraft will be the F111 for the cold war group build. but going finish of the other projects in the works first lol.

As for the hanger I'll leave the scratch building to you my friend
