Thanks Scott! I couldn't not do the camo, I wanted something a bit different. Did you ever see the EF Typhoon with the invasion stripes?

Nice work on the cammo Rob! Hope the "staining" comes out in the wash - I switched over to using white-tac instead of the standard blu stuff a while back when I hit similar problems so it might be worth giving that a go if you can get hold of some. Apparently it contains fewer (or different) chemicals.

Today I attached the canards and completed all the detail painting using Sky Grey and Medium Sea Grey. Here are the colours I've used for this build:




And here's where I'm at:




Now I can get onto clear coat and decals. I get quite a lot of satisfaction applying the decals and really bringing it to life, so can't wait for that!

That looks just great!

Did you fix the miscoloration caused by the blue tac, it looks OK on the photos now I think.

Thanks Tommy, I'm really pleased with how the build is progressing!

The discolouration died down a bit over the last few days. I don't think it's going to be a problem for the finished result.

Really nice progress Rob - that camo looks excellent and nice to see the staining is working out too!

Over the last couple of days I've managed to get a couple of coats of Humbrol gloss varnish done, and the main GiNA decals. She's really coming to life now! I love this bit

Got a decent amount done on the landing gear last night, just need to paint the metal part of the hydraulic rams.



Weathering was done over the whole model using Mig Ammo panel line wash - medium grey and neutral brown.

I don't know how I missed last week's update but you're right about those decals bringing the whole thing to life.

Hopefully you're not too far away now - it's looking great

Last night I managed to successfully attach landing gear and doors. I had seen a review of this kit which said they had to do some major surgery to get the doors to fit - I didn't come up against any problems! Anyway here are some pics:









I also managed to do a coat of Vallejo matt varnish on the upper side. As always I used a brush to apply the varnish as it produces the same result due to being self-leveling and it means I don't have to clean an airbrush.

Some more matt varnish and then I'll just need to attached the navigation lights and it'll be finished!

I'm going to call this finished...

It's not as matt as I would like it, but that's just a niggle.

Will post a proper reveal on Saturday when I can take some photos in decent light, but here's one of it still on the desk:

Great stuff. I swear airplane wheel bay doors are purposefully made to be frustrating so it's always nice when they aren't.
