Dry brushing .... that's something I have never done .
Could someone give me some tips on how to do it or a link to a good you tube vid . And can it be done withen enamel paint ?

I haven't worked with enamel in years (too stinky for me) but if you're interested I did a how-to on figures on my channel.
I wouldn't call it good.
Hamikar Barkas has done an excellent one as well. His I Would call good. haha.
Here's the first part of one of mine
And Hamilkar's first part
Yes you can certainly drybrush with enamels.

Well...... my first try at dry brushing.............and i think i failed.....

Before:

.....aaaannnndddd after ... ( though i couldnt tell )

What could it be i am doing wrong.......

i take my brush , dip it in the paint , brush it al of again and then go over the fig.

Coen , just wotched the vid`s ....... uhm you dont really dry brush in them

there very usefull vid`s dont get me wrong and i did use them !

maybe your not using a light enough colour for the dry brushing.

Try adding a little white.

Well still working on my durty dozen but got the camo on the tank done......... no bad if i may say so myself

my first airbrush camo done........ i need a better airbrush.......... fine lines are NOT an option with this one

Well ........ the Camo is Done !!

its been weathered down to the best of my ability....

the decal is on and now i wait until its dry for the rust and mud ...........

I`m getting there !!!!

P.S. i AM gonna get the hang of that dry brushing

That camo and weathering is really nice.

Im yet to try a winter whitewash camo yours looks great though.

Wonderful

Some of my figures I have painted. But. without washing and dry-brushing at that time.
I have big problems with the faces.I can not paint such small details well.

i didnt paint any detail on the face its just to smal
i just gave the face the skin colour and nothing more
i think if you would try to paint anything more detail in that smal face it would look very funny

I would not try to paint the whole face. My hand is too restless.
But some shadows around the eyes, the mouth and the nose would be nice.
But if I try that with a washing, I ruin the whole face ...

I too have never tried to paint faces ( or even figures yet ) at 1:35 scale but I do watch and read a lot of hints and tips...
Have you guys watched this Youtuber?
He posts this technique in 2 parts copying a technique shown in October 2009 issue of fine scale modeller.

Shame dude..

Can you not drill the broken pin out and "improvise"?
I would search round for some similar diameter dowel,rod,styrene,metal,nail,pin.....whatever to replace and "hide" with weathering.

Even if its smaller to fit inside the plastic like a bone in a leg?
Good luck with the repair and the rust and smoke is looking really good mate.

Looking good so far!

I too had a broken pin once.
My solution was to sand the broken part and the place were it sould be, and I drilled a small hole in the part and the suspension.
Than I put a small piece of wire in it with CA glue and pinned it to the hull...

Well... after checking and checking and checking and checking again ......... i didnt do anything wrong......the tracks are to short

I fitted one but its so damn tight i even moved he first wheel so far back its agains the second one :

There is absolutly no slag what so ever and the strain ( i hope i got the wright word ) that the second track broke :

......

this how much space there is when the tracks are slagged like they should :

..

what to about this..... i dont have spare tracks

Does the front sprocket not slide freely up and down that channel?
Sometimes using more glue around the glued piece will reactivate the glue already there making it removable again.
Can anyone confirm this for Schoof to help out or is the sprocket supposed to be glued ?
I have never built this so don't know the wheel/sprocket assembly.

The front sprocket is loose and all the way Back The last sprocket can't move .
I got then off but there's an edge around the area where the sprocket sits so it can't move.

I really think the tracks are to short !

Hey Schoof,
I just did some checking around on some reviews of the kit that you're building an most of them complain about the tracks in this kit.
You didn't do anything wrong dude. They're just really crappy tracks.

Let me look around my spares boxes and see if I have any that you can have to replace these ones.
I know that I have some, but I don't know if I have enough.
If I have some, they're yours buddy.

We'll see what tracks Coen has, but if they are any use I also have a set of rubber band type tracks from a Zvesda SU100. This has the same lower hull and running gear as the T34, but of course the Tamiya lower hull might not be the same length. The tracks I have are 36 cm long minus a 0.5 cm overlap where they join. If you measure the tracks you have we'll know if these are of any use. The length would probably help Coen to see if he has anything suitable too.

Well, I have a full set of Dragon's T34 Magic Tracks.

There's more than enough links to make up for any length that you need... but...
They aren't made for the Tamiya kit and may not fit perfectly around the drive sprocket.

The teeth may be a bit off. If they don't fit in the sprocket it would be noticeable.

I can't speak for Sprue. I'd say do a bit of research about which ones you'd prefer and one of us will look after ya.

I should add, that it would take about a week or two for mine to get to you, Sprue's would be much faster as he's a lot closer to you.
