Sorry for being monotonous, but gotta agree - great finish on the paint! :th: :cheers2:

Hate that when bits fall off on the inside and you cant get them. You can almost hear them rattling even when the model isn't moving, like they're taunting you!

thanks gents, I'm sure I will continue to fail to live up to your expectations :

Now suitably decaled to within an inch of its life, they seemed much “stickier” than usual and certainly compared to the swastika (Hannants) and some wanted to fold on themselves. All did however go into panel lines reasonably well.
I ummed and ahhed about panel washing and decided not to in the end a) because it would be hard to see against the dark top and stark against the blue and b) because I have to put this squiggle on at some point it would have meant that the panels would be intermittent.

I have received my Mr Paint paint, so I now have a piece of plastcard to ruin, a 1/72 JU88 to ruin and a 1/48th JU88 to ruin. What larks Pip, what larks….

Cheers

Paul

Will you stop setting our expectations so high!!

It's looking great mate - really looking forward to seeing it (and the others) develop - and I'm with Digger on this one, you're not fooling anyone! :cheers2:

Looking very good in paint and decals. She cuts a very smart profile :thumb2:
Though I must admit, I like my Nazi aircraft in flames and descending uncontrollably :shifty:

having had a cortisone injection in my hip this morning (I'm lame now like my excuses :nena: ) I decided to bite the bullet and go for this Mr Paint stuff. OMG out of the bottle I can spray fine lines with no splatter no fish eyes, no swearing, or slamming of hand on desk :wtf:  why cant I do this with acrylics? I was using a 0.2 H&S Evolution at about 15psi, I sprayed a plastic card that I'd primed and it was good but I've seen this before, I call it modelphobia where it sprays perfectly until you put it near a model and all turns to.... well you know! So I sprayed a hack; all good, then the 1/72 JU88 (so as Tomcat forgives me) really good and then this as below. I then changed to the green with the same results. I dont have a spray booth or respirator so I'm not going to suddenly start using this all overbut fine stuff, definitely.

I then went on to take the masks off which did not go well..... :boom: :boom: but I shall leave that til next time

thanks for looking and the never ending encouragement. I lurked here and on many other forums back in the day, and it was the never ending positivity of the membership that made me become...."active"

:cheers2: :bow::

You are in the trenches battling this out like a trooper, seeing all the pitfalls and warts
I am looking at your pics thinking, wow that is really cool, he did well
I am sure there are things you don't like, but to me that looks great. Honestly
The belly looks really cool. You have more balls than most to attempt that camo pattern over such a perfectly painted aircraft
I applaud you

Incidentally,
I would not say anything if I didn't like it...like your mom used to tell you "if you don't have anything nice to say..."

Thank you 2KNS, I'm now thinking I wished someone made a decent 1/48 Me 110 G-6, that would be a real test!

Again many thanks for the kind words, I think its amazing the gentle challenges we give to each other that keep us moving forward. : :
So cockpit unwrapped, just the torpedoes to finish now. I said previously that I had issues removing the P Mask masks infact the vinyl when covered by paint and varnish became very difficult to shift and parts of the upper canopy are very scratched where I had to use tweezers to get them to shift. Fortunately these don’t show in the photos but I did manage to push the other rear machinegun in trying to get it off, this was counterbalanced by the nose glazing coming off which meant I got the barrels out but no way to put them back without complete destruction so it’s the barrels only. The only complete loss was the windows on one side of the gondola which went in when trying to de-mask and are a total loss.
