Chain came out pretty good this time. Sprayed it chrome on the top and bottom of the links and titanium gold on the sides.
Then added the black panel wash.



The gas cap came out great, though!!

I put the forks on backwards...





I was able to JUST get them back out before the CA dried. AAARRRRGGGHH! I wasn't even rushing or anything (lot of times I'll watch stuff on my laptop while working, but it wasn't even on) and somehow just put them on reversed. What a boob! Anyway, I think the next time I post it will be complete.

Thanks, Kev!!! It's got plenty of mistakes and darn-its, but am getting better at these models. I still make stupid gaffs but enjoy it and that's the main thing. Thanks for the encouragement, really appreciate it!

Forks flipped-round the CORRECT way now.



Got it done last night, we got off at noon yesterday at work so came home and work about 7-8 hours on it to get it done. I still have the rear brake reservoir to put on as I completely forgot to paint it.
Painted it and will be put on sometime today before I put it in the case...

Getting ready for decals and final assembly



Not sure what's going on here.. front discs are a bit darker in real life than they appear in the pic, may need to up the darkness on the next one.



Few pics of the final pieces put on... rear-sets, exhaust shields, etc...







The stand came out pretty cool too. Primed in gray, then shot it black and then sprayed about 4-5 coats of Alclad Chrome. It's not quite as dark as in the pic... I think the flash from my garbage cell phone is messing with it.





You can tell in the 2nd pic how much more "chrome" it looks... It actually looks a bit lighter than that for real.

But. . . . . .

And I'm so glad I went with the Metallic Black for the fork tubes and the rear swing arm - I freakin' LOVE the color. It's just a gorgeous black color that had a bit of interest to it.

Each of these kits I have done over the last two years or so (since I joined this site) have been a lot of fun, but more importantly a learning experience. I really appreciate you guys that take the time to answer my questions and concerns, even the dumb qestions. I've grown a lot in the last year or so, whether it be with decals, or using the airbrush (which kinda intimidated me). Still a long way to go but glad you guys are here.

Had fun with this one - few tense moments (like gluing the forks on backwards), but that's par for the course with me!

Not salvagable I'm afraid, been glued for a few days.

All is OK though, I've got a second kit I'm already robbing parts from so can start the forks from scratch.

Ugghh!! I guess it's one of those "live & learn" type things... done it countless times. I should know better too.

Sweet finish Barry! And I love the RC stuff, I used to race on carpet myself, grip roll used to be my biggest enemy unless I had the car set-up dialled in. I used to race on road (Asphalt as you guys call it!) many moons ago too, 1/10th scale.

I still have a Nitro TC that I never use! And a RWD off road Schumacher buggy that I never use either! Why am I like this?! I'm going to make an effort to run them both this summer.

And sorry @Gavlaaar but I couldn't help but laugh at those forks, I wonder what she'd ride like 1:1 like that

I love the R/C racing, Gary. It's probably my favorite hobby - between models, gaming, and R/C cars. Only problem is the availability of race tracks to compete at. I used to travel to races ages ago, then had kids and that stopped. Started racing again a few years ago but was traveling out of town (State) 1 to 3 weekends a month and finally just got expensive and being away too much from the better half. I'm trying to get a track put in here locally - but it's tough, and mostly expensive.

I hear'ya on the "having cars" thing, I would be embarrassed to tell you how many I have.
