Rocks look excellent  and a clear top layer will hopefully give the water a sense of depth with a murky sediment.

Working well and with the clear on top it should have depth. Before you add the clear a old tree branch inserted into the depths might help.

It looks great and a clear coat should finish it off perfectly. I agree with Digger. A branch would look good. Maybe even some foil fish? I can't answer any of your questions about the resin unfortunately.

So, time for the next pour! I decided against adding anything to the base as my goal is still to have it look deep and dark. I thought adding any rocks or branches would make it look too shallow...

...however, because I poured too much the first time it still looks almost solid unless you look at it just right! Oh, well.

To give it some texture I'm adding ripples where Gollum exited the water with his "boat". This will dry clear and maybe look a bit better.

Boat WIP. I figure Gollum wouldn't have too much to work with down there so maybe it is made of found rope and goblin skins. Getting the size right has been a process. This is my third attempt at it - and since I super glued it to my cutting pad and both my thumbs in the process it will be my FINAL attempt! Damn, my left thumb still hurts!
It will look better when painted. Really.

Nice progress - I really like the look of the pool & the shelf, I think the pool is showing plenty of depth :th:

The bits of human thumb skin on the little boat create a ton of realism
Nice touch...or stick

Love the acrylic work man, looking great

I thought so too! Goblin skin is so hard to get now that I had to improvise.
