So my mate nige was here today and we both decided the colour i had made was too dark for the chally and as nige has seen these things many times in person we both decided mr hobby 405 olive green was as good match as any.

And that is most definitely not the chally fully painted in the background.

Im going for the black green camo and ill be depicting a chally at bovington as I've seen interesting dio idea pics

Great progress Paul and love the finish you get with the Mr Hobby paint - I know you've got the Infinity now but lets face it, you would get a great finish if you spat the paint through a straw!!

And loving the thread as well - was laughing so hard last night I woke the wife up and was still laughing as she was beating me round the head!!

Looks good Paul. I am going to be doing mine in a desert scheme I think, but might try to give it a used look. So will need to paint it green first, then overspray the sand yellow and wear it back.

I probably could, but as I'm not very happy with this kit I may as well save them for something else. I'd like to do another chally 2, desertised, so they'd come in for that.

So some pics

Anyway, i got the Accurate Armour figures, built up and in the poses i want, the driver (with the face mask) has funny looking googles, but never mind. The gunner and commander look great though, they needed a little filler and still need some finishing sanding and then ill prime them. Got them in the position i want especially happy with the arm resting on the GPMG

Jeez those are crisp Paul! The face on that commander is excellent.
The goggles could use a once over with your soft grey sponge sander though. There's a few tags still clinging on there. Stubborn buggers.
That's resin for you though.
They're really going to shin your Chally up!!!

Yeah im gonna give them a go over with a thinny sponge later, Shame about the drivers goggles, been thinking if i could add some putty to even them out

Let's say they don't sell Mr. Hobby paints anywhere around me... and I can't find that Green that you used on ebay... is there a Tamiya, Model Masters or Vallejo alternative that you or Nigel could recommend? I picked up the Vallejo US Army Dark Green today and the photo of the colour looked similar, but I'm not sure...

Hey Mikey if you google British NATO green Vallejo you should find the info in the right shade of Vallejo green

I did a tutorial on how I paint DPM in my Cold War GB thread. Its for 1/72 scale, but the principle should be the same and I think the effect was quite good.

The only thing is that I was aiming at the older DPM pattern in which the green was a bit more faded than the 94/95 pattern stuff you would need for this. So use a slightly darker green, and less of the lighter tan colour to represent more modern DPM.

There's a mixture I've seen in the vids at bovington, I know there nearly all RTR I've seen black, olive green, olive green with high viz, dpm, dpm with hi viz,

I think I'm gonna do just olive overalls
