Will probably paint this up as the example from the Panzer Lehr unit that is supplied as an option with the kit.

The only niggle is the discrepancy between the box top artwork and the instruction's profile guides. Ron Volstad has illustrated the Jagdpanther with dark green and brown wheels, dragon has cited all yellow. I prefer the former but have not found a good reference.

The Dragon painting guide;

I will opt for the box top, as looking through the internet at other models built and painted, they seem to concur with Volstad (who I believe researches thoroughly for his work).

Just got the build done quickly each evening as was a nice kit and straight forward (for Dragon). Need to maximise the time to paint as I am unable to dedicate much time to painting and weathering for more than an hour or two before a 3 year old and a 1 year old muscle in and want my paint, pigment airbrush, finger pointing ...what's that daddy, can I have a go, let me paint, or worse yet ..... I like those wheels and then I have three missing wheels forever!

The two crew figures have progressed, faces an head gear pretty much there;

I used the following so far;

1. Paint the flesh in a Humbrol buff or tan colour.
2. Lay down a heavy wash of burnt or raw sienna oil paint so it collects in all the recesses. Use a white spirit moistened brush to blend the wash off of the high points or thin to allow the wash to move.
3. I usually use oils for the flesh tones but have the life colour flesh set so just followed the instructions.
4. Paint the lips with a flesh colour oil paint.
5. Paint the hair.
6. Head gear painted with the Vallejo black set, again just follow the instructions on the pack.

Uniforms next as I can't get to the Jagdpanther until the weekend

Oops, forgot to add that prior to the oil wash I protect the Humbrol enamel with Klear - that would be why it's in the photo (dummy

Ok, camo gently mapped out using a light coloured pencil, and after a fight with my airbrush managed to lay down a very disappointing pattern using XF-78 Wooden Deck Tan.

Just don't know what is going on today as am mucking literally everything up today

After yet another fight with the airbrush the brown is added using Tamiya XF-79 Linoleum Deck Brown.

None of my colours are historically accurate but after weathering and washes etc they change so much so as long as it looks the part ...

Initial areas of stone colour added

Followed by a dark green

Dots were than added using the previous colours plus a brighter green

Looks hideous and not at all pleased with the result as I find German uniform camo a bit hit and miss.

A couple of washes of Raw Umber and dry brush Humbrol 72 brings them to what you see below:

Stunning work Paul!!

The camo on the tank looks fantastic and I especially love the figures. Top class brush skills and those washes really work well on the uniforms!

I don't know Paul... in that lighting those colours didn't look too far off the mark bud.
I think that after weathering and a filter or two it will look a hell of a lot more accurate than you think.
And DAMN...!!! Those figures rock!!!

Decals applied after an initial coat of Klear. Another top coat will be applied prior to weathering.

Ah, I see your point HM. The light is reflecting too much. The colour is actually silver as these are the contact points with the tracks that rub back to bare metal (refer to image below).

I have painted them silver at this point rather than later to avoid a stark bare metal vs weathering later.

Here is the full image, if you look carefully you can just make out the rims of the inner set of wheels are a shiny metal in between the gaps in the mud!
