gun base fitted , note the same turret cover as the recovery panther , nice detail great kit so far , this was not done in one sitting it took me a few days , but could not post on a daily bases .

thats it for now , a shout out to the missis for letting me use the dinning room for this build , but no air brushing . just waiting to here what she wants in return

Love the detail on the gun base , that wood grain looks as if it will hold a wash great..

Good progress.... This kit is on my wish list. Did the PE come with it or was it extra?

Yeah lee it did theres p e for grills and AA gun sheild plus side armer . Its a nice kit fitting together nicely , tracks are single piece s might be a problem for me anyway

Does the kit come with some of the gear a regular bergepanther would have or is everything replaced with the flak
And how is the styrene itself , as i had some bad luck with this brand before
The styrene was very brittle and snapped on several parts

No it does not come with any of the recovery gear , there is a kit out there of a flak panther it hase the lifting boom with it but I cant recall the brand name . I have only had one problem so far with brittle parts it was the cutters thay snapped whist I was removing from the spruce so far so good

a quick update , making a start on the tracks never done this sort before there are no pins or wires .

not sure how this is going to work , the tracks just rest inside each other on a small lip there is no instruction on how to do this , some say to glue the tracks and place them on the tank before it sets so thay can be positioned right .

Super stuff Martin, I binned the tracks, I have this built but not yet painted so will wait for a set of Fruils, much less hassle.

Did you find the PE quite thick and unwieldy? Mine was like working with steel!

the bits of p.e. i have done so far are a little thick , but i am about to start the flak gun and that has all the shield in p e so we .will see

I would suggest follow the same steps as with the Dragon magi tracks, with the glueing and placing on model to get correct sag

A quick update, hull is built up just the rain cover to finish .

now moving on to the flak gun ,
i bought a new gun barrel to replace the original looks pretty cool .

build up of the gun

lining up the new barrel ready for cutting

hole drilled out ready for the new barrel .

coming together nicely

nice winding gear , one thing with the new barrel fitted is it wont stay in any position becuse of the xtra weight .

problem solved with the gun barrel once the rams were fitted.

stage one complete next stage will be seats and gun site gun guards

found these scraper blades in my local pound shop , and had a light bulb moment i havent got any proper bending tools for my
p.e so i gave these a go worked ok so far

Oh my Gawd ! that must have been a PITA to assembly those tracks...

hi all another update getting on now second part of the gun done now .

It was going well up to the point of putting the p. e. gun guards on this became very flipping fustrating because the are only held in place by 2 rods and trying to get them lined up in the right place was not easy there was a couple of position marks on the p. e. but the angle of the rods was not clear.
so i had them to far up to far down and so on. so to solve this i drilled a small hole in the top of the guard to locate the top rod ,and hey it worked , this is my first experance of p,e. so go easy lads .
