The more I look at my M113 the more unhappy I am with my washing-job.

So once again... and I think better...

Good evening...

This morning I placed my soldiers and have everything covered with a layer of matte clear coat.
Now fasten a part of the delivery for the "Support Fire Base Danger" in the province Dinh Tuong (9th US Infantry Division)...

The wire rolls really add to the build mate.

Time for me to start with the base.

The base itself is a picture frame from a Swedish furniture store.
The soil consists of a mixture of chinchilla-sand (5), Brown color (6), wood glue (6) and water. I applied this mud on the picture frame and oregano (6) was used to imitate leafs.
In a 1 € shop I bought a ring (1) and a small flower-buquet (2) of artificial flowers. I cut a few branches and painted them with different green tones. The moss (3) was in the cellar and the Buddha (4) I stole my wife.
I put green stuff in the damp earth, and now everything is drying in the living room.

This has been a great build, sorry I am coming in so late.
You are a talented modleller for sure and I like the extras you have added from your stockpile
The other thing is the great info and history in your posts. The evaluation of the conditions and history of Veitnam conflict makes for an interesting read and really makes you feel for the guys who fought there.
As an adult modleller, I make stuff that I think is cool, but I also do far more research into the topic and get more out of the hobby than just a nice chunk of painted styrene.

I am would be unhappy to spend a lot of money for aftermarket products, if there is also a convenient alternative. Green stuff is available as artificial flowers in a euro-shops or in pet shops for a terrarium, etc...

It was fun for me to investigate for further Information than only about vehicle.
I also found it a bit shocking for reading, under which conditions the young soldiers were sent to Vietnam and in what they told them why they fight there...

I found the same thing as I researched for my Huey build, it really changed my point of view on Vietnam
Was disgusting how poorly the soldiers were treated when they got back home.... people called them baby killers and worse

Unfortunately, this has not changed. When I see on YT or on TV, how returning soldiers will be celebrated.In Germany it looks quite different. When I came back from Afghanistan they quickly stuffed into buses and brought us back to the barracks. No band, no flags only a few demonstrators.

That is sad treatment
