Ya no real problems, just people continue to surprise me.
Lots to do with moving this week. Packing up all my modelling stuff for me to move Friday night then Saturday move all my woodworking equipment,tools and wood to new garage and make room for the movers to clear out the rest of the house. I think that is why I was so pissed to find someone inside the fence right before moving actual valuables there.
Of course it is supposed to snow this weekend again as well just to add a higher degree of difficulty

Been some cases here where the indigenous have wanted to use the bathroom or get a drink of water and if they didn't steal something at that atm. Then a few days later the place was robbed...just like clock work.
In another instance once you opened the door you were knocked aside and a gang appearing from no where and gutted the place. This occurred about 8pm one night.
You really have to be picky who your charitable to....if it feels off or you don't like the look of them. Tell to get back on there bike.
I live in an isolated farm house and I had a group turn up asking for petrol one night. Six of them in a car. Gave me the story that they needed to get to the next town it was an emergency, but the buggers must have passed at least 3 places where they could have gotten fuel ( gas stations close at 6 pm). No way was I going off into the dark with them or give them fuel. If I did and assuming I wasn't going to be attacked they would have been back to put the bite on again. I told them to go back to the closest town ( 5km away) and I don't have any fuel for them. Luckily for me they left with no aggro and never seen them again.
I was ready to bolt the door and grab a weapon though. I have heard many sad stories. One that made the news some years ago a motorist stopped to help a lady broken down and 4 others jumped out of the bushes bashed them and stole the car.
You have to be very careful these days I'm sorry to say.

Exactly the worry, those kind of stories scare me rare or not

A blank slate...upstairs modelling room is ready to be moved into

Closet for my kit stash....closet shelving to be designed still

There is a little nook to the right off the closet just as you enter the room that will fit an nice glass IKEA display cabinet
Here we go, the hell of moving in

I got a venting pipe in the main floor workshop's wall however..for the city's inspector, it is a fresh air return

Can't see what the problem would be . A nice hole with a equally nice bezel same color as the wall. . It would blend in nicely, besides it's your cave......easy for me to say

Day 1 of moving over, got the utility trailer loaded and did two full load runs.
Got all my modelling stuff moved, tons of wood, most all hand held tools and about 50% of the big equipment.
So frozen and snowy and no cement driveway to be able roll the bandsaw, heavy tool chest and a few other rolling bits into the garage. You have to carry them. So gotta figure out something else.
Just about killed ourselves moving a scrollsaw, drillpress and its base...good thing I have a strong son

Most of my important junk is at the new house, I got my puppy introduced and comfortable in the new place so hey I figure I am done really and they can pack and move the rest of the junk

You guys are in your summer and we are getting pounded with actual winter here
Two weeks of sub zero tempatures and a third snow fall. We have not had this for many years.
The idea of finishing these spaces is bit overwhelming, especially as I have to get all this junk moved in and into the way hating the clutter and where to start

I think that might be a smart move
I got a modelling room table thrown together so I can do some quiet modelling at night.
I don't want to pull out everything as I want a L desk built in

Had more leather supplies stored than I remember, cripes I haven't done much of that since I jumped back into modelling with ISM

Found a little cedar wood intarsia goldfish scrollsaw project I started a couple years ago; may tinker with it a bit over the holidays, but the Tamiya Phantom is #1 priority to complete before January

Many congratulations on getting moved Scott! We moved into our place the week leading up to Christmas a few years back and we hadn't had the additional work of building it first - and there's still unsorted stuff in the garage 9 years later!

The blinds are fabric horizontal slats that slide over each other to allow that open look or fully sealed up.
Pretty cool and not too pricey as well

Was in two tool stores with Christmas money ready to be spent, sales everywhere ......and didn't buy anything
My wise 15 yr old said probably because I don't want to add more mess to the workspace before organizing it

Had done all the research online, watched reviews, look at the major competitions to find the best deal and just no way did I
want to pull the trigger and buy. I am after a mitre saw and will likely get the 10" Bosch with the funky pivoting arm system.....when I have an organized shop to put it in.

Love the fire place mate. Looking at something similar for those freezing mornings when it gets down to 10 Deg c.

We meet a lot of Aussies on their winter breaks escaping the heat by skiing in Whistler or Sun Peaks (close to Kamloops where I am from) Nice people

I have had a Makita slide compound saw for a few years now and love the precision cuts which are repeatable even if you have to change settings for one cut then go back to a previous setting. The one thing I hate or causes me the most grief in my restricted space is the backspace room needed in order to slide it all the way back.
I like the look of the Bosch glide saw looks great.

Your Christmas pic's look very tradtional, snow with a raging fire. All thats needed is lot's of black Sambuca.

I think it is above 5C they are ok to pour, but add stuff to improve cure
Rain is no problem which is our usual winter weather
Probably February and we will be good to go here

44C here 2 days ago....that wouldn't have been good for concrete either.
I suppose February isn't too much longer to wait. Is pavers not a good option for the drive.

Ya pavers were considered, but stuff grows in-between the gaps, installation labour expensive and more maintenance in the end.
Would have same problem with frozen ground for laying pavers or pouring concrete
We have a great concrete guy so that was the deciding factor

It's an old name, but it works even if it doesn't roll off the tongue as easily.

Mix white vinegar with salt (about two teaspoons for each quart (liter), and two or three drops of dish soap, shake and spray on the offender's. Best when it's warm and sunny and been dry for a couple of days so the plants really "drink" it in. Try to get it onto the base of the plant or the leaves will burn off and it will regrow. Tough stuff might need a second go but it works and nothing cancer causing on your ground and cost less than one-tenth of the chemical soups.

Hm. Good advice. I'll have to try that, though being it's Seattle I'll have to wait until July for two warm and dry days to happen together.
