ROTFLMAO! Digger you just made my morning :) I just ordered my 3rd kit for my stash with the reasoning I am working on a race car I need to replace one.... :shhh:
Someday I might have something like you. some day : :cheers2:
Ya see how it grabs hold ...
Ya, careful what you wish for
A big stash is a blessing and a curse
I know my friend I know.... The curse is the pressure to make a dent in it. The pleasure is having a choice on hand and being able to open any box and go through it...can't really explain it. The other thing is that there isn't a lot of mainstream subjects that I don't have so the mad buying has decreased... and I look around at my stash and tell myself '' YOUR MAD you will never build them all". If I do I'll have nowhere to display them and I guess eventually the built ones will end up at the tip. Kind of sad for all the hours put into them. Wonder what they will put on my tombstone ..." Here lays a mediocre modeler "

I'm at work right now, but when I come back this evening, I'll snap a pic of the stash. Granted, it's not that impressive since I like to throw away the boxes of smaller kits and shove 5-6 of them in one single bigger box, but there's still content to be shown.

One draw back with throwing away the kit box is if you don't build something and go to sell it later. It usually incurs a bigger discount. I know boxes take up a lot of space.

Eh, why should I sell the kits? Unless it's something rare, it's too much effort for what it brings. By the way, I've had to delay the pictures for two reasons: first, the camera's dead (and my phone takes terrible blurry pictures) and ... I remember that I had stuff scattered all over the place as well  there's at least an ACE MT-LB Scorpion, a S-Model BRDM-2, a Zebrano KV-3, a Revell T-72M1, and all T-90s by ACE, Zvezda and Revell (I'm waiting for some money to buy Modelcollect's versions so that I can do a side-by-side comparative build and post pictures) laying there and there around the house.

It's only a small stash, there are a few kits that aren't in this pic, like a couple of Fujimi 1/16 cars and a couple 4 or 5 Tamiya 1/20 f1 kits

Just flicked through the last 15-20 pages of this thread, the envy is strong!!!

Some great stashes here gents, I won't bother posting pics of my meagre lot, but it is growing steadily, nearly up to 20 kits now, and at my snail speed of building 2-3 kits a year max, that's still enough to keep me going for 10 years at least

Got my eye on a few more though, and a couple of upcoming releases I am chomping at the bit to get my filthy hands on as soon as they get a release date

Cars don't do it for me mostly, but I'm impressed with the way the stash is organized and neatly stored....that's love :D

Small stash?!?!? :bash: My wife would bitch slap me if I had that many models put back!

I've got maybe 1/3 that many put back and the other day I found the Jordan 7-Up and Benetton F1's on ebay for a really good price and she wasn't too happy about it... She got over it. As I've always heard, it's easier to ask for forgiveness than permission.

I'll try and get a pic of my anemic stash tonight. :th:

So some of you will have seen the really bad photo on FB. Slightly better here, behind this are 3 more stacks, same height. Predominantly rally and road cars with the odd SciFi and plane, may even be a ship or 2.

you look like you have a thing for rally cars... the Focus specifically. few boxes there look like they're struggling to take the strain though.

Here's a few "specific" kits that I either hold dear to me or are worth a fair bit - or both.

And one of the ugliest all time BEST looking race cars. :?  Love this car but it looks like a shoe box with front steps going 'round the track.

The Sauber Mercedes C9 has always caught my eye. I have no idea of it's worth, although the current boxing isn't too bad price wise.

I've finally sorted some of my stash. Here are some of the larger items (mostly cars). The first four photos show some of what I will be keeping. The remaining pictures will be leaving (sale and donation):

This one is all 1/12 or 1/16 except the 1/20 Revival Auto Union dual rear wheel kit
Image

These are all 1/12 except the 1/16 Ferrari GTO
Image

The aircraft are 1/32 and 1/48 and the Victory is 1/100
Image

All 1/12 or 1/16 except the 1/24 Tiger, 1/32 F-105, and 1/72 BV 222 V2

This does not include 11 large U-haul storage boxes full of kits or shelves near my hobby desk. These other spaces include all my ships, other aircraft, numerous armor, and remaining car type kits... my best guess is another 150 of them. Then there is the roughly 300 die-cast in various scales and the approximately 21 1/18 aircraft hanging from the ceiling.

Somebody please help me!!! :eeek:  :wtf:
On the table or recently completed:

1/18 AV8-B Harrier - WIP
1/35 Churchill AVRE with SBG Bridge Diorama - DONE

Easier to just send the link to the album of photos - getting everything out and photographing it would be a problem with a Greyhound in the house who has an unhealthy interest in such things!!

Stash content - thus far!!

Was thinking I might do one in the green & grey of BAOR in their last days of service :)

I had a web browse for the CH-53 Skycrane (I was avoiding US rotary wing - after all you have to draw the line somewhere - but it would be a nice counter to the two MiL Mi-10 variants!) - they are on eBay with the last issue date but the price is eye watering!!! I thought the Mi-12 was bad enough but its huge in comparison - the average price on eBay for a CH-53 would have covered both the Mi-10's... I suspect I will cave in through at some point... :D :D

Oh yeah - the wife found an addition to the stash I forgot I had... Which is amazing when you consider how big it is... The Matchbox 1/72 Flower Class Corvette!!
I built it when it first came out together with the Heller kit of HMS Victory and left them at my parents place. When they passed away the brother in law's parents cleared the place without being asked and trashed both
Meantime I recall now reading a article where someone had built a R/C version and I had bought a second kit intending to do the same. Then as is the way of things the daughter Mk 1 arrived and I completely forgot about it. Wife was clearing a wardrobe out the other day and found it tucked away in the back... So a divergence in the plans as I now also look for the two Airfix British fast launches to go with it and find myself looking badly at the Revell Type VIIC U-Boat as a match... Oh dear.... :eeek: :eeek:

I have a thing for subs as well and have been keeping a eye on that particular Revell kit. Here is where you can get it on sale.

              https://www.ozgameshop.com/

Only about 50 pounds......it was about 60...then I look at the deluxe version for a 100 with all the goodies included. I'm never happy...

Thats a good price!! I was looking on KingKit.co.uk and they have the deluxe one new at £125:

              https://www.kingkit.co.uk/product/revel ... sale-only-

Found this site the other night - they do 2nd hand kits too from people clearing their stash out - so I got another Mi-1 and an Mi-6 at a fraction of the price I paid for the Mi-6 I have!

It is :) Well worth the money! Trumpeter put a lot of effort into getting it right - e.g. when built the rotor blades have just the right "droop" on them to be like the real ones.
I got the Edouard "Big Kit" to go with it too. The biggie issue is it only gives FS colour numbers for the paint schemes so I was well pleased to find the AKAN paint kits.
Got plans for this one into a diorama setting - probably the Soviet airbase at Bagram, 'Stan, in the Eighties Either under maintenance if I can find suitable 1/35 figures or as pre- deployment with the pilots and a troop of Motor Rifles for the back. Failing that I will remove the troop seats froom the rear compartment and scratchbuild the reload racks for the missile pods and gun that gave the Muj such nasty surprises in the later parts of that capaign. Got my eyes on a UAZ 469 and a Ural 4230 to complete it.
Going to be a tad big though. I estimate it will require a baseboard about 1.5 m square and a custom made case. Need to decide whether to use an asphalt/concrete surface or the more typical Soviet version of PSP made into a pad. The former would be the easiest..... I think I will save this one until I can afford an airbrush due to the sheer size involved!!

Your comments made me go read some reviews on this kit. It is huge with a 500mm rotor diameter...wow.
fc models in spain do base board prints and a lot of them are free in the magazine they publish.

I was going to say not one car in my collection, then I remembered the 2 German staff cars I have one in 1/24 and the other is 1/35 and I Just realized they are missing from my scalemates data base.
Definitely don't have any space related items. Whats in the Squadron models box ?

Although in fairness - its only cost me £14,95 + £.50 p&p as opposed to the £60+ bidding wars all the others had going on..... I stuck a max bid in of £22 not expecting to win - and it closed tonight at the starting price....

This is my current stash. I think once I finish this Subaru WRC car, I'll move on to some bikes.

The problem with a big stash of kits is deciding what to build next.

It's not a awful problem to have and you just make it part of the fun. I change my mind 3-4 times before I charge ahead.

I was messing around this morning making the GTO Ferrari and dipping into my little stash of extra decals and bits and thought....
