Global Scale Modeller

Hi guys, not wanting to start a new kit til new year, I've resurrected these tiny things from a while back.

The complete plane is oob. First thing I found is that I'm going to need a very light grey to allow the decals to show! Also, I think a sludge wash is a bit ham fisted for these little fellas.

Started work on another, I've chopped the control surfaces off to be replaced by PE. And also hollowed out the intakes.



Got some undercoat on the card base as well, not much but it's a start!

blimey, I thought 1:72 was too small, painting these would have me

at least they won't take too long?

Building them oob isn't too bad, adding cockpits and PE is a bit of a pain though, lol!

Turned out alright



One of the f-18's will be taking off, so I had to cut off the rear stabs



Added the control surfaces, flaps down a bit and ailerons giving a bit of 'correction'. Comparing the main carriage bay doors to the real thing... Well, I don't know what they were thinking!? At least it gives the impression! Also added a couple of missile rails to the wing tips, made from thin wire.

That was fun to view - thanks Chief! I'd a gone blind on this scale...but you captured it - the one taking off and the flight deck - marvelous!

This is all done now, nothing to report, the last two jets were just a repeat of the first one! So I'll put some pics in the reveal section. Thanks guys!
