Just short intro to get things rolling. ...

I'm going to enter this very nice sig using my Academy Tiger 1 early with full interior. .............

And i plan on making it into a diorama. .... With will be a challenge ......

Here is a little taste of it. ...

it won't be exactly like that Ofcourse but it shows my intention. .....

Wow. Well that will be a really cool built.
If you're planning to scratch build that it will be really interesting.
The crane shouldn't be too bad I would think, there's a lot photos of the Fries cranes and they're all just pipes welded together. The wheels will be the tricky bit. I've no idea how you'd do those. Unless you cannibalise something to get them.
I've built that Tiger kit a couple of times and enjoyed it.
I have little doubt that you will too.

A big idea
Should look nice though if you have the full interior model
then it is a good way to show the interior of the tiger and maybe a hatch or 2 opened up on the engine deck to show off the work that has been done there

Fries cranes were the field stations used for the heavy lifting.

Yeah I Just found out that the Fries Crane and the stabokran one and the same are. I have to do allot of stash building because I'm not paying € 122 for one of those

The build starts.......just like any other build really

First the suspension and the rear plate

But then things take a turn to the not so normal..... the first parts of the interior.....

Engine and transmission

Here are the most parts of the engine compartment layed out

And dry fitted

Next i primed it all the interior parts with a grey primer, the outside parts with a black primer and used the AK True Metal "gun metal"on the engine and drive train

Then some dry fitting again

Next up was the interior of the turret...... man what a fiddely work that is

Then i went ahead and took the major parts and did the interior colour and did Dunkel Gelb on the outside

as you can see i only sprayed the light interior colour in the lower as i`m still waiting on the right shade of red for the lowest part

now the most of the major paint has been applied i staeted to do some damage ( yeah i know ....wrong way around )

and offcourse the detail painting needed to be done aswell as some light chipping or wear off the paint

Lets dry fit .......

Now what figures are we gonna use...... or rather how many......

A little mock up of the dio to be done ...... ( the second hull is going to be a BergePanther)

And that`s it for now ...... oh yeah i forgot ....... PHOTO HEAVY !!!

Now that was a long update
The tiger looks great so far
And if you think the interior was fiddly ,imagine being a crewmember and you would have to be in there all the time
Really claustrofobic (a StuG III is even worse)

Here is one major update ( and picture dump )

Starting with the Dio base and the test fixing

Next up a little bit of scratch building

and some more placement checking

then some weathering.....

....and some more work on the Dio base ... ( yes i know i work choatic )

Letting that dry ..... some interior weathering and finally my oxide red came in the mail

now all the components can be fitted

and yet some more placement testing...... i know it`s getting boring

finally got some grass, litter, bushes and stuff on the dio

Painting some tree stumps

And here are the decals and the chipping and rust and overal weathering

rust streaks added....

And the tracks are done and fitted ..... well one side is

Wow, Seb!!!!!

That is a lot of work you've put in there and it looks fantastic!! Love all the detail and she is really beaten up - I'm a big fan of chips, dirt and rust and to me yours looks just perfect.

Can't wait to see this all finished up!

Jesus Seb, that is some great work on all kinds of stuff. The damages to the shrouds and chipping stand out off the top of my head. What A beautiful piece.

Final Update.....

YES it`s almost done !!!

Never thought i would finish this one in time but with only 3 little details to go i will be done in time !!!

First the road to the finish for you in picture .......

So after after dry fitting the tracks i went ahead and decided that the weathering on the main body of the tank was done and gave it a matt coat

in the same paint session i tried to give the exhaust shrouds a real rusted look

The next morning i started to play with some pigments....

Next ....the joy......Figures with camo.....

Then a step that`s pretty new..... Ultimate Burnishing fluid....... ( it`s GREAT )

that why Paul says it`s best to do the links loose..... the light parts are were i put the super glue, the fluid won`t get to the metal there and so no burnishing.....

Very nice fit on the Academy Tiger

The right one is further weathered with Ultimate washes .... ( dark dirt, mud and rust )

Diorama Time , first the placing of the Tiger and some details

Some last minutes additions

Now for placing the Tiger "in" the Dio...

After some advice of our lordship Coen i had to change it a bit

The Final Setup !!!

..........So....... just the replacement barrel, a jerrycan and a toolbox the paint and place ..... so close .....so close....
