ISM = Amazing

Post by Bagpiper »

Well what can I say. It has been but a few weeks since Lee and Paul started ISM and invited me (make that dumped from a great hight) to be the GB Team Lead (whatever the heck that means) I said I would help. I should have remembered from my Army days "never volunteer for anything" But I wanted to say a very big thank you to both of them and indeed to all of you. Lee and Paul for starting ISM and all our friends and members and sponsors for making it such a great place to be in such a short space of time.

So let's keep the momentum going and sign up for our facebook page - and share it with your friends please. Sign up on our Google+ page - and share it with your friends and let's get this place rocking and rolling.

Lastly we would be nothing without our kind sponsors for the prizes and monthly drawings so a very big thank you. I have put our sponsors on our facebook page and google+ page - it is the least I can do. :cheers2: :thumb2:

I am sure we don't see all the effort Lee and Paul puts into this so well done guys and thank you both :cheers2: :cheers2: :cheers2:

Ha ha thanks for that jim, it means a lot, yeah the last month has flown by.

We have a few more plans for ISM, with fingers in many pies so to say, quite a bit going on behind the scenes :cheers2: :eeek:

Onwards and upwards. :thumb2:

Right, what they all said!

Seriously though, thanks guys. I've read and perused many forums and nothing struck my fancy.

I'll second that! Cheers Lee and Paul (and maybe J to the G! Ha ha).
The only problem is that it's too popular, which means I can't get to read every post before bed time!!

The really annoying thin about ISM, and there is one, is that about a week before it started, after watching a video by Alexmodelling, I had this great idea abut starting a forum/website, using the youtube modellers as a basis.

It was to be called something like 'International Youtube scale modellers community' and I even put together a logo idea based loosely on the UN symbol. I then thought Naaa I could never do that and it wouldn't be popular anyway. DOH!

That said, I'm guessing ISM was actually conceived long before that.

Long live ISM

Doh lol

The idea had been floating around in my head for a long time (well over a year) but more so in the last couple of months. Lee and myself were (i still am) members of flory models and lee started to post his SMR videos on there (I couldn't post my emodels builds as it promoted emodels) and he got good reception from most people, all bar one Jan or foxy Rommel ;) so with lee's videos being removed and mine not being able to be shown, I sent lee a pm seeing if he wanted to joint start a forum revolving around you tube modellers. Turns out we had both had the same idea and he was about to pm me asking me the same thing. So as I said the other day cheers Jan, without your moaning/negative attitude this place may never have existed :nena: :hi:

I would like to continue the praise to Paul and Lee for creating such a great forum. Kudos must go to you guys for making the forum so diverse through creating non modelling topics and for reconsigning smaller niches such as fantasy. Great job guys, so glad i became a part of this community. Well done to Jimmy for managing the Group Builds, no doubt as more exist you will regret the decision and hire a small child to take on the large share of the workload.

The only downside is that having just completed my degree ISM reminds me of my Independent Study Module and as such freaks me out occasionally :o :D .
