Tamiya Js-2

Post by Ozzie21 »

Built this during a hang out the other day. All it needs now is paint and lots of weathering. While I built the kit during the hangout, it's Tamiya so basically shake the box, the tracks took a little longer.

There are only two pieces of photo etch on the whole kit, air intake grills on the engine deck, gun barrel is Aber, 35L-69, and tracks and sprockets from Fruilmodel, ATL-54.Tow cables are from twisted copper wire which I will finish when the painting starts. I did start to clean up the turret joints and few others but having looked a quite a few pictures of the real thing I stopped as these things are really rough and I mean rough :jd: . Still from these tanks you can see the basic shape of most Russian AFV's of future years. Now waiting on the paint to arrive so I can paint this beast some time in the new year.

Well an update is in order and it's been a long time coming. I finally got time to apply some paint and do some basic weathering. I still have to apply an oil wash of some description, be it a full wash or dot wash.
Sorry about the dark pictures but one of my lights blew and it's Sunday here so nothing is open.
