Newbie Here

Post by Styrenejeans »

I just joined ISM and am happy to be here. I'm a retired old dude who after 20+ years away from the hobby decided to get back into it. I used to build WWII 1/48 scale aircraft but I want to expand into modern military jet aircraft, armor, cars and ships. I stumbled upon ISM on You Tube and have been watching a ton of vids on new techniques, tools and especially products that weren't available during the 80's and early 90's. All my previously modelling experience was hand painting with enamel paints (no brand names, heh), not filling seams properly, no sealants or washes, just building the aircraft for pure enjoyment and stress relief, lol.

I've been watching Paul and Lee's vids and have picked up a ton of tips and ideas to expand my horizons. I'm looking forward to a new learning experience and joining this group for the sole purpose of becoming a better modeler.

Thanks for listening.

Mr. Styrenejeans.

Thanks all for the kind response. I'm looking forward to conversing with everyone here, picking up tips, shooting the proverbial bs and generally having a good time with my newly rediscovered hobby! I really want to start a channel here however I have no idea to go about it so any tips would be of great help. I do have an older Canon HD vid camera that I could dust off and figure out how to use it again, lol. I just finished my first build a 1/48 OV-10A Bronco 60's recon/attack aircraft and would luv to upload some pics here, but I haven't figured out how yet, lol. All in time I suppose. Thanks for all your support.

Just Completed: Testors 1/48 OV-10A Bronco

On the Bench: Tamiya 1/48 US Modern 4X4 Utility Vehicle, MP Hummer to be shown in my very first diorama withe the Bronco.
