So the journey begins. First i would like to thank Coen for all he has done for the community he is a valuble asset and i have learned so many new things from him. I have had this kit in the stash since i bought back in 2005 when it came out and have been waiting for the right time to do it and this is it. The kit is dragons tiger 1 late version kit #6253 3n1..this kit is loaded with plastic, PE aluminum barrel wire tow cables and the list goes! The plan is to combine this kit with a tamiya german maintance crew in a dio depicting an engine swap. there will be alot of firsts for me ...this will be my first tiger tank and my first attempt at scratch building a warehouse were the maint. crew will be working. I cant wait to get started this is gonna be FUN!!! heres the pics i will add sprue shots when the build offically begins

Oh Wow!!! you don't do anything small eh?
This will be an epic build bud. Definitely a lot to learn from it.
Well chosen I think, that kit is the very best kit of the tiger I so you're off to a great start.
I'll look forward to seeing your build

Aaahh we get to look into the belly of the beast
It will take some trimming with the Tamiya kit
I used it on a Panther in a older build and that kit is really meant for tamiya kits
But i think that all i did was removing the tabs on the top of the engine tub
To make it fit in between the cooling fans
So no big hack and slash work
Best of luck with your build

Sooo...chompin at the bit to get going here. well plans for the build have changed a bit. originally i was going to scratch build my building cuz $$$ is a little tight after the holidays but come to find out that we r gettin a little year end bonus so papa has some coin to spend...so now im gonna do a full on panzerwerks shop using these kits
building
shop bits and bobs
lighting and electric panels for the walls
crane
the one drawback of the tiger kit i chose is there is no zimm and to be more accurate i chose to get this zimm set
since everyone is making good progress with their builds i have been feeling like a bit of a slacker but i dont want to start the tiger quite yet so im gonna start on this maintance crew....this tamiya kit includes an engine that can be used for a tiger I or a KT or panther 2 figures oil drum tool boxes various tools oil cans etc.
the sprues..not a big fan of tamiya figures but they seem ok everything else looks good
instructions typical tamiya
everything assembled....next update will be the painting of these bits

Yay!!!! Money!!!!!
haha.
You aren't going in quietly are ya Art haha. That's going to be a hell of a build.
Were did you find that crane set by the way? Maintenance scenes are always so much fun to look at. They're kinda fun to build because there's almost no end to little things that you can add to them to increase the depth of story.
Hopefully it will be tonnes of fun for you.

Really excited about seeing this dio done! It looks one hell of a challenge and I hope it comes together for you.

them mini art buildings are a right bitch to do so I hope you got your filler at the ready. But once they are done the detail is fab.

Your not kiddn nige spent all day yesterday cutting trimming and filling the gaps in the wall....used almost the entire tube of putty....like u said the work is all worth it as they do look real nice once complete

Yup! I've build a couple of miniarts dios, they're certainly a work out for your cutting hand and your hobby knife. But they do look cool when built up. Easy to paint too. Even easier to dress up with extra goodies.

spent the weekend build the miniart building walls and assembled the gantry crane.....for those of you who have used minarts buildings i think u already know what ur in for...for those who have not be prepared for alot of trimming test fiiting sanding and filling gaps....stock up on filler ahead of time ...they are alot of work but do come out nice once done just take ur time
so heres the walls to represent the industrial building....i will prime and paint everything once built
sunday i did the crane...its a well detailed kit by verlinden it took me way longer then i expected...if u plan on using this kit i found on error in the instructions pertaining to part number 14...the pics show it going on the upper part of the crane that houses the winch....as shown here
but it really belongs at the bottom the crane to drive the wheels as shown here
its should be part 15 mounted up top as shown here
heres what it looks like once assembled
next im gonna work on the little shop bits..tools torches gas bottles workbenches ....a whole bunch of little shop bits and bobs and a few figures to boot

yea i was thinkin the same thing about the paint....i have alot of tube acrylics to use for the building .....the crane was bigger then i expected...you can customize it when u build it by cutting the i beeams to whatever length u want i just was worried i would go to small and not be able to fit the tiger tucked underneath it

soooo...spent a few hours tonite cleaning up and assembling all the little shop bits and two figures...i must say its a PIA dealin with resin parts but the details are amazing and i really think the resin figures are much nicer then the plastic ones
heres the pcs of tonites work
spare tank parts and some jerry cans
now its time to get some color on all this stuff

There will always be a lot of people arguing about who killed Michael Wittmann and his crew.
The truth is... no one knows.
There isn't enough evidence to say for sure, and the evidence that exists is hearsay or circumstantial.
The tiny amount of forensic evidence points in one direction but because the only corroborating evidence (the war diaries of the Sherbrooke Fusiliers) was destroyed by a friendly fire incident it falls back to hearsay.
There's the obvious answer to the question.. then there's what we can prove.
Until those two things can meet up it will always be a matter of opinion as to who killed Wittmann and his crew.
