Greetings from Wisconsin

Post by OliveDrab »

Well, after many years of drifting in and out of model building, this site looks like a great place to be! So much great information here, just overwhelming at first, but very inspirational too. After browsing this site for the first time, I just had to join!

I have been building (and collecting) models since a young boy. Nearly every one of those early models met their demise at the hands of myself and my brothers, as we re-created the scenes from the latest war movie we saw. Armored models were exploded with firecrackers, model ships were floated out on the pond and sunk with BB guns, the airplanes crashed in balls of flames, and the model cars were great for demolition derby. I am now 48, my how the kit stash has grown over the years, I'm afraid I will be long gone before most get built, but I plan to have fun trying anyways!

My main area I build now is 1/35 WWII Armor. Such an important time in history, and the sacrifices that were made by so many, are just some of the reasons I am drawn to this time frame.

Hey man, welcome to the forum. There are a handful of cheeseheads here. Curious where up there you're from. I am in Madison now but have lived in Appleton and rural NE WI most of my life.
