Meng 1/72 F-102A (Case XX)

Post by Lee »

I made it....!!!! My first finish (especially in a GB) for a loooooooong time.....lol

This kit is not with out it's problems, which I will go through on January's news show, but I got there in the end.

Ingredients used Gunze paints, Alclad glosses (gloss & matt) and Ultimate Weathering Wash (Dark Dirt) for the weathering. All the camo was freehanded with pre and a very small bit of post shading.

That plane cried out for an in flight display! The Century Series of jets are some of the best looking the US ever made! I've only ever seen the F-102 (and F-106) in their interceptor gray colors, so this is a nice change. :th:

By the way, it would look pretty good mounted on a wall using the built in screw holes. Screaming mach 2 up the wall!
ON THE BENCH: Do I have to say? :(

Wow! that finish is immaculate! I always seem to overlook flaws in my finishing that prevent my models from looking that perfect in the end. I really want to start attempting some wheels up-in-flight dioramas like that!
