models for sale, in Portugal?

Post by m0rce »

Hi folks,
Looking for some tips from Portuguese modelers (or foreign if you know an answer) as i know theres quite a few on here.

I had to pop back to the Algarve last tuesday as my dad had a fall and is in hospital. Since ive been here i havent hqd much to do besides visit. I was looking for a kit to slap together while i was here but cant find any anywhere... tried modelo/continente/jumbo even imaginarium and fnac... not a single kit anywhere...

Googled it qnd all i got was toys r us with a few airfix kits but the algarve toys r us closed due to the "crise"

Are there no shops that sell kits in portugal? There certainly are many "tuga" modelers.

my hands are bored.

Obrigado (Thank you)

Sergio

Olá Sérgio e Bem Vindo a este fantástico forum ,

Will write in English so the other fellows follow this...first my sympathy with you and your father , hope that everything is ok with him and nothing serious happen .Been there already , all the best !

As for the HobbyShops in Portugal , well you noticed that I live in Maia near Oporto , but I was born in Lisbon , so I know some shops here in OPorto area as well as in Lisbon area , in Algarve...Toy's r us closed everywhere and yes they had some few kits from Airfix and Revell ...but all closed now .

Well I think there is this shop :

Topolino Brinquedos

There is in Portimão and Faro

here are the contacts :

Portimão - Rua do Comercio,53 Tel. 282 425 538

Faro - Rua Tenente Valadin,38 Tel. 289 824 069

Not sure about the avaiability ....but they are one of the agents for Tamiya/Revell/Italieri agent in Portugal that it is Hisinsa in Spain ...

their site

http://www.topolinobrinquedos.com/

Or you may go to Spain ...El corte Ingles, they usually have some kits on sale .In Huelva, think there is one there ...but I do not know where you are , it could be a loong trip for a kit ,

Hope that I helped Sérgio !

:cheers2:
Cheers ,
António

Ola Antonio

Thank you for your reply.
I go to Faro every day at the moment so ill check out Topolino tommorow. Thanks for that, i couldnt find anythinhg through google.

In Huelva there is indeed a nice model shop. When watching some spanish build videos they show an advertisement for it but as you say, bit to far to drive for a kit.

Abraco

Hi all
Just to follow up. The Topolino shop in Faro has around 25-30 kits to choose from(airfix, italeri, revell) ranging €6 to €45 as well as a small selection of tamiya acrylics and humbrol enamels, small tamiya rattle can paint, orange and green tamiya cement, tamiya brushes and revell masking tape (not as good as tamiyas imo)

Just got (another) 1 72 bf109, as i say just want something easy to slap together while im here.

Obrigado Antonio for the tip and as you asked, my dad was operated on yesterday and i think he is on the road to recovery.

Regards
Sergio
