Well here goes, anything can happen in the next few ********.



Doing this kit in honour of Coen.



Going to begin with the wheels and lower hull.



Wheels now ready for painting. Thought I'd try some Eduard zimmerit. Not 100% happy with how I have applied it so far. Had to drill holes from the inside of the lower hull.





A couple of firsts, 1st time build, 1st time I have uploaded a picture.

That PE looks damn good. Putting those locating holes in it must have been a total pain in the arse! Wow. Brave man.

Had to drill the holes from the inside of the hull. For the turret I made a major boob. Cut the PE in half, glued it then drilled it. At the back there is a missing bit.

Just downloaded latest photos from camera. I should have checked before spraying on primer. Had to delete out of focus snaps.


I found the PE zimmerit for the glacis to be a bit too fiddly. So I used good old green stuff. Made use of liquid green stuff on the barrel to help remove the seam.


Attached rear mud flaps. Had to place them by eye. No gap in photo etch. Will add exhaust covers after painting the exhaust with a rusty colour.



My next mistake was to put track links on upside down. Did rectify it. Next time I shall study the instructions. opps my bad. This probably explains the spacing between the tracks.

Tank is now primed.



Primed the turret separately as i did with the wheels.


Going to glve the Vallejo primer two days to cure.

That's excellent work Graham. Very neat and clean build. Very professional in fact.

Have done some work on my Tiger, just haven't posted as often as I could. My bad.

Put the first coat of a two tone camouflage pattern.


Next up were the track links. All 199 of them each with 2 visible ejector pin marks. Only 398 pin marks in total. A few nights of: sanding, filling and sanding. Track links done.





Put the links into two different boxes. 100 for the right track, 99 the left.



Glued 100 links and fit to the right side. Using tape to hold the two ends together. Will remove later for painting. Used the supplied straight bars/beams to create some sag. Just hoping the right track comes of easily, as the wheels are glued on. No poly caps with this version.

Your doing a sterling job for a 1st build mate.
No worries with mistakes and bloopers cuz the only people that know about this stuff is you and us .
Everyone makes mistakes and my God I have dropped clangers a plenty (haven't I Mike C ).
The Community though is here to be your third hand and to give advice and encouragement.
Your build is brilliant and for myself, I love it.

Well done with the tracks too, they look superb. For your first one it's going to look fantastic I think.
I'm really impressed with your level of patience for filling all those EPMs. That's a huge amount of really dull work.
You have either an excess of patience or you're wonderfully crazy

The Tiger has now got its two tone camouflage pattern. I applied it free hand, no masking. Took the tracks off to paint it. They didn't quite come off in one piece. Lesson learned. Next time I shall first use white glue to hold wheels in place as I mold the track links in place.




Next up I will be painting tools and cables, varnish and decals. Oh and fit the track. Will show some pics of this later. Then probably ruin it by weathering it. Not only is this my first Tiger, It will be the first time I will have attempted to weather a model.

You will not ruin it.
Take your time.
Have a butchers at a few vids on weathering and the do's and donts.
Coen has some first rate vids worth a look and Paul of ISM has a some great How To Vids for such 1st timers.

It's not as hard as you think it is Graham. There's a point that you can take it to and then leave it where it will still look nice and you don't have to go all crazy with the detail on the weathering.
Taking it slow and easy is the best plan.

This is great advice,I learned a TON from watching Mike's Jagdpanzer build videos.
