Hello from Belgium.

:cheers2:

Hi guys, Bert here from an upper north village close to Holland, on the border of Belgium.

I'm an artist with a course of three years in animation movies as educational background.
Though i'm just living a normal work life these days together with my girlfriend.
31 years old, i rolled into modeling by accident you can say. I did it when i was 9 or so, but only the glueing part, never painted them back then.. In fact i probably made around 4 models, wich where destroyed in the same year because dogfights were tough against my cousin. We used them as toys so yeah... Go figure. :)
Planes were allways in the back of my mind though, and when i started out drawing alot around 11,12 years old those came on paper as some of the first reference drawings i made.

Years go by and drawing became my life. Together with some weekend night sim racing online on my rig. Yup i love simulations type of "games".

Mind you, that all was when i was a student so had plenty of time for that ;)
Eventually i started flying also. Some more normal flight sims, like fsx etc. When worklife took over the Simulators became a once in a month business... But now the last 2 years i find myself deeply in the best ww2 sim ever!! Il2 sturmovik 1946..... Deeply in love with it, ahum..

Anyways, three weeks ago i came across a very good old friend who i hadnt seen in around 2 years. Went to a bar and grabbed a couple of beers together. We where close to his house wich i was excited to see for the first time so we went to drink some more overthere...
And there i saw them! Two models 1:32 scale he was building at the same time.. Ww2 Spitfires!! My interest was immediatly arroused! We sat there drinking at his modelling table and we were very interested in eachother stories. Me, i was talking about the il2 1946 sim he should try, and him explaining me what he was modelling and how he was doing it... God it was late that night when i came home. But the sparks where there and the day after i went to grab a ton load of tools and paints from the model shop :)...

And being an artist from education i didnt want to do a half job, so i started surfing around for knowledge, and found the movies from Paul, or is it Lee, on youtube! :) so i eventually ended up here, hehe..

They helped me alot, those movies, together with alot of posts here. And now three weeks later my first build is almost a fact, only the prop needs paint, but that is for a building post i'll make today in the wip.

Annyways, Tx alot to read this background of me and excuse my english ;)

Greetings Bert
