Greetings from London

Post by AndyCook »

Hi folks

Having gleaned much useful info from here already I decided to sign up. I have been modelling again for about 3 weeks now; having given up previously about 38 years ago (I was 12 at the time and "too old" for that sort of kids stuff :eeek: ). Anyway, a few weeks back I decided to give an Airfix beginners kit a go and it was like turning the clock back to those previous days. The smell of the glue hasn't changed a bit. The build is still in progress as I am really taking my time with it. Not that it will be amazing, it is already a mess, but I need to relearn any painting techniques I might have had, and am practing the new techniques required for acrylics on a small and cheap model more for practice than anything else.

Anyway, I'll be ordering my next build tomorrow, the Airfix British Forces Forward Assault Group Gift Set 1:48 (Airfix have it @ £8.99 - too good to pass up). I'm like a big kid once again and am already planning my first diorama with it even though I have never painted a figure before.

Wish me luck and I do intend to post a thread of my progress, but it won't be quick as short funds mean I have to wait for the Red Zebra extras for the Jackal and a few other bits for the diorama.

Glad to be on board
Andy
