Tamiya 1/48 F-15J

Hi fellas,

another project I'm on at the moment. It's an old Tamiya from 1992, not that good, some fit issues, some of the panel lines had to be rescribed. To glue the two fuselage halves i used the flxi file touch and flow, this thing is awesome!







Some parts still need some sanding and re scribing







a bit of work on missiles, landing gear, exhausts, pods and fuel tanks holders







I'll try to add some break wiring on the landing gear



Here is a stabilizer re scribed

Yikes!!! For a Tamiya kit, it's not one of their best. Have no doubt you will do it justice. Good luck.

I built that kit a couple months ago. It's actually a pretty decent kit, IMO. yeah there are a couple areas that fit terrible and the engines are not good either. I think the intakes have problems on every manufacturers kits though. There are some raised hinges on the bottom panels that aren't correct and the engines look really bad (I replaced mine with Aires engines) But the overall look and shape is spot on. It would be awesome if Tamiya released a new mold of it but Great Wall Hobby already has a Next Generation kit version available.

Don't use those pods that go on the far outboard stations. I've never seen an F-15 use them. Our pylon attachment points are blanked off and we don't have any pylons that we could install anyway.
