It's an interesting project. Looking forward to the updates going forward. You've done excellent work so far and obviously putting a lot of thought into the outcome.

The P-51 is one of my favorites, but I'm holding out on doing one until I have about 10 builds experience so I can do it justice.

that's kind of how i felt, but then this contest thing came along and after looking around i really couldn't see a better value regarding which kit to build. now that i'm into it i really feel like i made the right choice. i am really not wasting a lot of time and energy on things that don't work properly.

Ok man, I soldiered through all the videos in one sitting...you did fine and I had a big MaiTai and chips to help me.
So some smart alec comments:
Good choice not to put in the engine, bad choice not to sell said engine to me!! You will speed up the build for sure.
In the early vids, one can tell how hesitant you are about modifying this kit. I like that you said you will build one again military style as that was what I was shouting at the screen for you to do.I guess you heard me.
Interesting Alclad primer/ filler, will have to look at that.
I use Squadron White as my favorite filler, though I have the green and two different Tamiya ones. I hate Tamiya white as I get it all over the f place even when I thin it. Read an article about J-B Weld 2 part epoxy that I might try, especially for my metal tubing to plastic joints.

You will do fine with the paint and decals, especially since you wisely have used a test mule
Overall, can't wait for the paint scheme reveal. I always remember John Travolta in a Breitling watch advert propped up against a P51...that dude has too much $ and needs to share some my way!

Hello again, watched your video update
The Mr Surfacer filler is great to use and thins out well.
It smells a bit and the lid will harden up on you if you are not neat and tidy with the threads on the bottle.
Also, let is set fully! It is a slow set and you can't sand it right away. I left mine 24 hrs depending on thickness of course.

It has a rim of clear plastic that will come up...it takes a bit of doing
