Global Scale Modeller

Hello, I am new here and I will be posting on behalf of my 12y old son who after completing his first model a 1/72 Spitfire about 18 months ago is hooked on modelling. At the moment he has no airbrush so all models are painted with either spray can or brush. He weathers them with a set of pastels. He has now just finished his 1/24 Airfix Hurricane which we got him for Xmas, He prefers the weathered look to the factory fresh look and I must say the hurricane looks like it has been on a fair few sorties! He is open to any tips and advice from more accomplished modellers.
