I have decided to tackle eduards amazingly detailed 1:48 bf109g-6 with some extra goodies that are from eduard :th:
in the build i will be taking some of the decals out of the royal class edition of the 109-g family these will be for the Swiss airforce variant which i find to be one of the better looking liverys of the bf109

the eduard goodies include the brassin and photo etch gun pod

and also the radio compartment

this is only the second time that i will use brassin parts therefore there may be some hiccups along the way but it will be a good learning expirience for me, plus in my opinion modelling is about challenging yourself and this certainly will be a big challenge for me!

so here is the actual kit with all the stuff laid out

Image

the box art is very nice in my opinion and like the majority of box arts now a days it is computer generated rather than being had drawn but i still think it looks rather good

there are only 4 sprues for the kit and a 1 clear sprue but from what i have seen eduard have done a great rendition of this classic german fighter

due to this being a profi pack kit you get some lovely coloured photo etch but i do find this to be a bit annoying as in a way it takes away a part of the build but i cant argue with the lovely results you can get with the instrument panel on kits that feature the etch

Image

you also get some laser cut masks for the canopy and other things which i love as it takes away the hassle of doing it yourself

Image

the instructions are printed on high quality gloss paper and are in colour

Image

the decals are also excellent and stencil data is included with both sheets being printed by cartograph :

here is just a quick vid where i talk about the kit but it isnt a inbox review but rather a announcement :pop:

BTW that Swiss scheme makes me drool...
Good luck! :th:

:cheers2:

Edit: Forgot, the Swiss had lots of 109 Es which they bought just before the war.
Late in the war they managed to blackmail the germans into a deal to buy (cant remember exactly) 10-15 109 Gs.
Even later they took possession of some 109Ks. (force landed ones if I remember correctly)
The Swiss airforce used the BF 109 in service long after the war.
