Love your swordfish too. I've never built the Airfix version. But, the swordfish is one of those kits that I would build again simply because the end result is very rewarding. I want to build the Tamiya float plane version. But, the kit is hard to find. Anyway, Great job!!!!!

Thanks for the approval. I saw your Tamiya version. Think it knocks socks off mine but then it is a bigger scale which normally means more flexible. Most props I've built have been the likes of P-40 Warhawk, F4U Corsair, FW190 etc in 1:48 scale. Personally I'd be happy if I never do another WWII prop in 1:72 again. Whilst the new molding on this Swordfish is really well done, it is very delicate, almost too delicate and maybe over engineered too. It certainly isn't what I'd call a beginners kit based on how fiddly it it. I am happy with the end result however, but I'm sticking with jets for a while but maybe with a Spitfire or something of that genre thrown in later in the year but deffinately in 1:48 scale.

Well, I don't build 1/72 scale very much because I don't like super small stuff. The swordfish in general is a challenging design. Although Tamiya's fit is very nice, the strut work and photo etch make it a difficult project. I stalled out for a couple months on that project simply for that reason. I've seen a couple other guys struggle with the Airfix kit as well. So hats off to you on this one. I actually think jets are more work than war birds though. I think you will find that building a Mustang or Spitfire is a much easier WWII project. Hope to see more of your work in the future.

my sympathies, my airfix swordfish cooled me on airfix possibly permanently, lol - looks stunning though!
