Eduard 1/48 Spitfire mkIXe

I've started work on the second spit that came with the royal class kit. I entered the first one in the D-day GB but I didn't finish because I got a bit frustrated trying to paint the Invasion stripes without masking it properly.
I've assembled the cockpit ready for painting and gave it a coat of primer from an aerosol. It didn't go down well and you can really see it on the PE but it should be OK once i've painted it. I added a couple of wires which are a little hard to see in that photo.


I also put the wet PE on the paper so I could prime the other side forgetting that it was still wet.

I managed to peel off most of the paper and I will give it another coat of primer later.
I'm waiting for some paints but I will post more soon.

I've nearly finished the cockpit now. I used the Hataka interior grey green. I tried some pre shading as I already had black in the airbrush and I think it came out ok.


I painted the details with AK flat black and i dry brushed it with humbrol 56.


I've given it a couple of washes and I will post some more photos once I have the seatbelts glued in.
