Italeri 1:48 A-4G Skyhawk

Post by Russ72 »

Hey there peoples. Going to give this one a go. 3 sprues, no camo and, no aftermarket. Hopefully it will be positively simple, but look okay at the end.

Second attempt at an update, the first gave me an odd error message. So lets be quick.

The cockpit. Parts dry fit together, then painted and washed, instrument decals added, and assembled.

Nose weight needs to be added, but I couldn't find a lead sinker for love or money so had to try something else.

Back soon with more.

A little bit more.

Wings went together fairly well, I mis-aligned one side so some work was needed to clean them up. Otherwise they were no trouble what so ever.

Image

Air intakes were painted gloss white inside and matt black at the back, as there is no intake detail. Overspray was cleaned up with an older sponge sander.

Image

At this point everything was dry fit. Ragnar "Nose Weight" was fixed in with CA glue and Blu Tak, then the halves were glued, taped and clamped.

The fit on the kit is pretty good, no need for major filling at any point so far. I am using the dissolved styrene trick and its working like a dream, but more of that in the nest update.

Cheers, :cheers2: .
