A very simple kit from Hobbycraft with not much detail at all and the canopy had no real frame lines on it, so it was a bit of a guess when it came to painting it. The landing gear was a bit of a fight to get the wheels straight but I did what i could to get them on. I originally half made this kit and put it back in the box out of frustration for about 7 months, brought it back out again in February, because I was determined to finish it.
All hand painted with using Humbrol and Testors paints with a couple of coats of future for the finish. Anyway the price was right and here it is.
Mark.

Very cool, that is a nice paint scheme.
What where these aircraft used for?

Looks great mate and I was wondering the same as DC looks like an of shoot of the Vulcan from certain angles. But fantastic build.

It was designed and built by Avro Canada as a delta-winged interceptor fighter which started in 1953. The first flight was in march 1958 and it could fly 3 times the speed of sound with an altitude of over 60,000ft. It was way ahead of its time in technology designed primarly to defend the Canadian north against the threat from Russia at the time. Unfortunatley the program was cancelled in Feb 1959 do to some kind of political debate and all the aircraft were completley dismantled and scrapped and nothing is left of the original aircraft.
Recently a full size replica of the Arrow was completed and is on display at the Canadian Air and Space Museum in Toronto Canada.
Thanks for the comments
Mark

Thanks muskegman. Wouldn't have guessed it was made in the 50's, the Canadians where way ahead of the game.
