So I thought that I had better post a few pics of where I'm at with the Dragon Sherman that I have been getting educated about!!! I am now officially in the DML GROOVE, this is 3 hours work and I'm really enjoying it .....no really It doesn't look like much but there are over 1 million parts used so far and twice that amount left over

Ask the wife or someone else to put on your geek goggles and have a look at your head.

It's not that I don't enjoy the models, but the joy only starts after the wheels and suspension is done.The wheels are just sooo repetitive... and every tank too, 8 to 20 wheels to glue together and sand smooth....so times I wish they had built a tank on pogo sticks.

I wish that it was around when I build my desert rat DV sherman III a few years ago. It would have made live a bit easier.

the wheels and suspension I enjoyed it's different to German armour, finished the hull and primed the lower half last night......there is great detail with the casting.... I've got my main colour mixed ( Mike Starmer recipe!)....today the sun is beating down ( not often in Scotland) so we'll see what happens

built...

first primed in grey ( forgot to photo!) then Tamiya Nato Black for pre shading and as the disruptive colour to be used, I played with various shades but it's not so apparent on the pics

I made a start on the base and was able to get some painting done on the pillars, random shades of grey ,green and a quick wash....the effect looks great as the pillars are made from plaster so they have a really natural look I had to order some figure cause the ones that I have don't suit what I have in mind!!!

a bit more work on the scene!!

now the top coat, lots of different shading done as I want to try and get tat summer faded look....

Gloss coat and decals....I had to attach tape to the antenna cause I'm sick of knocking it orf!!

and this is where I'm at ready to start the weathering process and finish the scene...figures have arrived so lets hope that my hands work this week!! the colours have darkened nicely after the gloss coat, perfect for what I have in mind to allow me to lighten them

I'm curious what your plan is with the gloss coat now. Should be interesting, busy the sound of it you have some nefarious plan. Muhahaha.

You should think about using one of the photo sharing services to post your pics bud. Especially since you post this many.
Posting then as attachments in large numbers will crash the forum as they use up huge amounts of bandwidth. Things like photobucket and the like allow you to embed the photo rather than have the forum host it. It also allows you to back up all your photos and shar them from one place.
There are several out there, photobucket is just one of them.

Yeah photobucket is a lot better, if you get stuck I've just made a video on the ism you tube channel about using it and the forum.

at last I'm able to do a wee bit of modelling again!! So I have done a bit of weathering on the sherman and this is my attempt at the dot technique with oils, I really enjoy this bit!!

It's almost magic.
