Panzer III J (early) Trop (Dragon)

Morning all heres dragons Panzer III J with the first stages of Color modulation applied
It was painted with Tamiya's so called acrylics cut with lacquer thinner sprayed with an iwata Custom Micron CMC Plus. I bought the kit second hand (but sealed) for a knockdown price. The kit was fairly easy to build with excellent magic tracks (strange) but the worst instructions Dragon has ever dared to throw into that box, its being painted as a vehicle in the 21st panzer division which was part of the Afrika Korps. it was delivered after february 1942 and hence has factory applied desert colors and not the hastilly applied camoflage seen early in the campaign.
This shot was taken in my new Foldio light box which is great for quick photographs although the photograph is slightly yellowed, sorry about that...

Though I'm not a fan of colour modulation myself, I'm always interested to see someone's work when they use it. I love the desert campaign vehicles, it will be interesting to see you bring it to life Chip.

Today the land rover discovery decided that it would automatically change gears when it felt like it! Yay thats taking the term 'automatic to the next level' and it made me late. Three years old and its already ****** up. What happened to land rovers quality control?

Rather angry as an understatement ,however i walked into my hobby room and progress was made! Heres the DAK panzer III J closer to being 'brought to life' i hope. I broke away from the color modulation style for the chipping and unified them faintly with vallejo acrylics heavily diluted with Future Acrylic polish(old school) i then sealed it with more future ready for subsequent weathering stages, and i was then completely calm, this hobby has benefits! again sorry for the yellowed photographs and the diminishing quality, looks like my quality controls gone as well

Sorry for the delay in replying cheers for your comments. The Car problems are draining my free time however soon enough I was thinking in making a diorama of it once finished, I've seen some of your stunning dioramas have you got any good suggestions?

Well,
I noticed that the cupola hatch is open in the last shot and not in the others. Did you make it workable?mor is it glue closed now?
If it's open then maybe a nice desert March scene with a couple infantry figures, all marching along side the Pz III as the commander watches from his cupola.
Along one of those long dusty desert roads. A nice broken low rock wall or a natural rock face in the background.
I love desert scenes, so I can think of quite a few.
