F-51D Mustang Airfix 1/72 "was that too fast"

just started on this little kit last night.

got the cockpit painted, made up some seat belts from frog tape and poked holes in the center with a pin. buckles made from thin wire. also added wood on the floor as i seen that in some pictures

Wow love mustangs and that cockpit is awesome I hope one day I could build seat belts like that can't believe there made from frog tape and wire. Looking forward to rest of build

assembly finished, ready for painting next!

you can see i drilled out to mount the 6 rockets and I'll add the 2 bombs as well
hardly any filler is need on this kit

I got the base colors painted on tonight. I used my favorite aluminum color which is from krylon. the yellow and black is craft paint.
It is also clear coated and ready for the decals next!

Part of the appeal of 1/72 scale aircraft is to relieve pressure on detailing. However, you seem to have gone above and beyond to make this kit interesting. Good job!
