would this be a valid entry

Post by MarkVerploeg »

Hi there
I have a Panzerhaubitze 2000 that i want to build for this gb but i have a question about this
It is a German vehicle that went into production in the late 90's
But the Dutch army received the first vehicles after the year 2000
So would it still be okay to build it for this gb
Cheers Mark

Aaah man i was hoping it would be
But maybe i can find something else
I just have been digging around at various sites to see what we had in terms of vehicles and planes since there is not a single kit of a dutch ship ( not my thing anyway)
But i have been brewing on several ideas in the last minutes
And i plan a trip to a modelling shop in a few days and maybe they have a kit i can use
So no real loss and it was a long shot to begin with
I'LL BE BACK (With Arnold accent) with a better plan

I could but most Fokkers are too old
The most planes build by Fokker are from WWI and WWII
After that they only made the Friend and Troopships wich where military versions of a civilian plane
I could settle for Leopard tanks as we had both the 1 and 2 in several versions but we had the Centurion before those and that was in the 50's and 60's before the Leopard 1 was used as a replacement
The only tank i am not sure of is the Leopard 2A6NL
Wich was the last version we had but i don't know when that upgrade was applied as all of the Dutch versions where purchased as Leopard 2A4 variants and later upgraded to the A4NL, A5NL and A6NL before we sold them to Finland in 2013 or 2014
So i haven't made up my mind yet and there is a chance i will do something different and try some more rare kits about DAF trucks

From the guidelines:
What qualifies as a Homeland subject.....Vehicles/aircraft/boats & ships/figures of any kind as long as it was produced or used by your home country between 1950 and 2000. If you are not sure what you are allowed to enter then please ask Lee or Paul
Thank god for that rule, otherwise it would indeed be very difficult for some of us to find a decent/interesting kit.

Hi all,
A tip for Dutch modelers, you can get ships from the Netherlands Navy in this shop in Den Helder.
http://proton-modelbouw.nl/category.php ... ategory=41
They are expensive because of the limited numbers made, I think you call them garage kits?

I know there is one brand they are smaller in scale but i can't remember the name
The YPR by AFV club is possible too wich is also a DAF but a licenced vehicle design wich was altered to suit the Dutch requirements

Yes i know bit that is not a problem according to the rules
Aslong as it was or still is in service in the allowed timespan
The country of origin is no issue
If that was the case we Dutchmen would all.be skipping this gb

You mean the "trots op onze jongens" , for the English "proud of our boys" version
I think that isn't allowed
That was painted orange during the European football championship of 2004 while Dutch troops where stationed in Afghanistan
Would be cool though but i have seen a model of that one several times already (all times the same model)

Proton is a realy good shop. I buy my scratch build materials from them, good people and services. :thumb2:
I do skip this GB for I don't like building anything modern except figures. As for most GB'S and SIG's are modern, I'm skipping all of them exept Paul's Jagd panter Sig. If I can find a kit for it that is. ...

Yeah this is more modern and like you i do WWIII subjects most of the time but i do like something different every now and then
It was just that i have the panzerhaubitze in the stash
But i plan a trip to a modelling shop today as i will be in Eindhoven anyway so maybe i will find something there
If not there is still Militracks next month and i know Dinnissen has some of those DAF trucks i mentionned earlier
So i will see what i can find and if i don't see anything i like i will skip this gb

The best day for the modelling part
Sunday could mean a lot of the bargains are allready gone
But i was too late to tell my boss and he made the schedule for may so i have to work that saturday and being the only cook at work it means no one can fill in for that day
But there is a TWENOT club meeting in june aswell wich is also in the Overloon museum
And if i can i will go to that too
I have found some good deals there over the last years
I just don't know the date for sure as the sitea from the museum and TWENOT are giving different dates so i will have to email them to see wich is the correct date for that event
It is not so big but still intresting
