Revell 1/50 scale Viking Ship

Post by muskegman »

Just got this finished and It was a very enjoyable kit. I decided not to use the shield decals as they were a bit too colourful and I wanted to give it a more authentic look rather than having it look like a toy when completed. I also made a sail out of an old pillowcase rather than use the full plastic sail that came in the kit and rolled it up and tied it into place. The rigging is quite simple and doesnt take too long to do. This is a very good kit and went together very well, not too many parts and was a nice break from the other projects I have on the go.
The last few shots I took are without oars and I decided to bundle them up and tie them down on the deck for display.

Looks great! :th: :th:

I've been wanting to build this kit as an homage to my family's Scandanvian heritage; seeing how superb yours turned out, I may just do it!

The Revell Viking Ship is reckoned to be one of the best on the market in plastic and makes up into a very accurate looking model.
Tried to look at the model featured in this thread but when I clicked on one of the little photo icons it just took me to a Photobucket promo page.
I guess from other posters this model looks really good.
