At the moment, I'm working on a Spitfire and im having a bit of trouble. Since I dont have the instructions, i had to eyeball the exact position of the cockpit module. This caused a massive gap between the fuselage halves. I was able to get them pretty close by forcing it and using super glue, but i still have a large seam... my biggest enemy. I have overcome almost all of my biggest challenges except filling and sanding. I tried just squirting in tamiya filler and spreading it with my finger and sanding it using fine sandpaper. It has been like 5 tries on this same seam and there is still a bit of a line and alot of little divots in the coat.

Any help?

I'm not great at filling and sanding but since I started using Vallejo filler then wetting a cotton bud ( Q tip) and running it over the filler...Vallejo is very fine so it might be good to use it as a final coat over your Tamiya filler.....

or throw a tarp over the seam to hide it!!! LOL

deluxe PERFECT PLASTIC PUTTY sounds like it works much the same (water based) and even after it is dry it can still be worked with water. My putty of choice now, also doesn't shrink much.

You could try some Mr Surfacer

Just cut out a narrow strip of plastic sheet and place it in the gap with some glue, then sand it down until it's even with the fuselage.
Then add some filler to hide the gap even more.
