Hi this shall be my entry to the star wars sig. I've never build any star wars kits before so this should be interesting

this is also my first time taking my progress photos using my very first DSLR camera Nikon D5100 so if I'm doing it wrong do let me know thx

I got the base done with some minimal sanding



Cockpit assembled ready to be prime and paint

Canopy masked up using maskol. Can anyone give me advice on how to focus on the pieces I tried so many times it just cant focus on it

Very cool kit bud
To get you camera to focus on stuff like those bits on stocks you need it reduce the depth of field. Place something behind it like a sheet of paper and have only the paper as the background

Some updates from last nights work and todays paint job

The wings were very time consuming as it had some many of this!! I spent most of my night yesterday to cut out and sand it down jeezz


Once I sanded all two wings I start preparing the pieces for the priming stage in the morning


And today morning I primed em up using Vallejo's black primer and that shall be the last time I'm using that lousy poop


So now I'm going to leave it overnight then I'll start the cockpit paint job tomorrow

So far the fits are ok only certain areas needs some sanding other than that its a sweet build

Update!!!

The cockpit parts are now all painted up



Later I gave it a dark wash , decalled up the side walls and assembled all the pieces together





The fuselage too received some dark wash in the front


Fuselage was then join up with no fit issues at all

I've painted up the main colour of the interceptor today and it is beautiful!!




then base is now too painted up. For the lettering I'll be painting yellow based on the movie title what do you think?

Final Update!!!!!

Continuing from yesterdays work I painted up the black panels and once it was dried I attached em to the wings and everything fits like a beauty






this is how it looks once I glued the wings together









Next was adding some wash over it




and here is the results looks mean to me







Later I applied the decals onto it and I present to you the final reveal of the Tie Interceptor. More photos in the final reveal section

Too bad that the Tie interceptor is no longer available at reasonable prices...(i me not going crazy in ebay). Have to wait and hope that Bandai decides to make a new Tie interceptor...
I managed to take a Tie Fighter, X wing , and the Millenium Falcon 1/144 from hjl last Xmas...but they re out of Finemolds now...

One question, mate. What color did you use for main colour? I really like the blueish gray...i think its a bit more "dramatic" and more "flashy" than the simple light gray (maybe not so accurate from the movies...)

For the main colour I used gunze sanyo lacquer C74 intermediate blue . Lucky you to have fine molds version of that x wing I really want one
