Hello from Virginia

Post by Danta2er »

Hello to all! I've been floating around for a few weeks trying to get my bearings and immersing myself in all the modelling goodness here.

I was watching a build of the 1:1 De Agostini Millennium Falcon and saw one of Paul's videos listed in the side-bar. Like a lot of other stories here, I watched the video and started the trip down the rabbit hole

I'm new at the more social media conscious building, at the same time, I am a fast learner and hope to contribute in the future.

Welcome from a fellow Virginian....(not natively)! I also was sucked in by Paul's videos. It definitely is a great way to get people to the forum.

Howdy Mince, I've lived in VA for 20+ years now and I'm still considered a "Yankee with a u-haul" lol

Woodbridge? I work in Arlington, I think I've got you beat for "Northern VA". I've read that the rest of VA thinks the northern part is full of Yankees. They're probably right.

Pretty much...yep. I know some folks that think the War of Northern Aggression is still under way.

So, fellow Virginians. Where do you'all do your shopping. I've done the majority on line but would love to have a local haunt to visit.

If you're in Northern VA, I go to Piper Hobby. They also have a monthly get together. I've struggled with, "pay a little more and support a small business, or save a few bucks?" Check out some locations for Hobby Works. A bit bigger for selection and locations and still kind of expensive. I've only been to the shop in Rockville. Otherwise, 99% online for me.
