Global Scale Modeller

Hi all,being than none of the current SiG's or GB's running right now really tickle my fancy I figured what the hell why not build another Stug.This will be an out of the box build that I might add some figures to in a small dio.The kit itself isn't anything special just your run of the mill CyberHobby Super Value Pack release with little PE and a figure set included.I wont bother boring you all with sprue shots because if you have seen one Dragon Stug/Panzer III you have seen them all Anyway,on the build pics.




The lower hull is done and all of the road wheels,return rollers and drive sprockets are done too.I did add some damage to a few of the road wheels.





I stippled some Mr Hobby Mr Surfacer 500 on the mufflers in preparation for further rust effects.




So far the build has been pretty simple and should make for a fairly quick build.

Those exhausts look great.

Mid-Missouri,Cole Camp to be exact.It's a small town about 25 mi south of Sedalia.

That B with the interior is an awesome kit.

I have been on vacation this week so I have had some time in the "cave" so here is another update.

The hull is pretty much done now.I am putting two crew figures in so I left the hatches open to accommodate them.I pre-shaded(rather sloppily) the air intakes black before adding the PE grills.The antenna troughs were next and went together without trouble accept for one of the PE brackets pinging off into never-never-land I also lost one of the front lifting rings(I'm keeping the carpet-monster well fed) so I just made some replacements out of wire.







I also decided to have both antenna in the up position so I drilled the mounts and used some .016 guitar string for the antenna.





I still have to clean-up the two piece main gun barrel and add a few small bits to the hull and then it's on to the fenders and track.

Looking forward to following this build.

How did you choose a specific size of guitar string for the aerials? I usually use brass wire, but I have heard that guitar string is more realistic.

Build looks awesome. I'm always tickled by how small the Stug was.

To be honest,I have an assortment of different size strings and just picked the size that looked right to me

Hello again everyone Summertime for me normally means no modelling time and this year was no exception.But I did manage to steal an hour here and there to get some progress made.So it's time to knock the dust off this build and get cracking.

I have gotten the tracks painted and ready for weathering.



The idlers and road wheels are painted,glossed and ready for washes.



I managed to get the main hull and tools painted,camo applied,glossed,chipping done and ready for washes.This was my first go at the German "squiggly" line camo and had a few issues with airbrush control,but I am learning.I have gotten the faces painted on the figures and now it's time to start on their uniforms.

Stugtastic mate! Can't wait for the stugerama! I've got a tamiya stug iii g in the booth with her primer drying following your work for inspiration.

Looking great. Stugs are great little vehicles - I like them too. I never thought of using guitar string for the antennae - so simple.

Hi new boy here "well" 60' so not really a boy. Like the look of you Stug III F. I have at least five Stug's in my cupboard so will follow you build with great interest. Will try the guitar string arial on my next build, keep up the good work.
