Chiefs mojo recovery plan part two

After an enjoyable build with the snowspeeder, I've chosen a tamiya kit next. I've read that this kit is really good, even by tamiya's standards. So should be a nice way to get back into things.

Here's the box art.



Usual, well laid out, tamiya instructions.



Decals. Only problem I can see is decal 6a, which are a bit out of register. Won't be using them anyway, lol!



Two grey sprues.




And one, very, clear sprue. With two canopy options.

Interesting subject, a RAF Mustang, didn't not know they existed.
Doesn't that red and white block thingy on the nose mean it is a Polish pilot?

Oh yes, this is a wonderful kit and perfect for mojo recovery.

IIRC when i built mine I used no filler - just a dash of MR Surfacer 500 on main seams and a quick rub with sanding stick. I dont think i even glued in the cockpit....

That's right, one of the Polish squadrons that flew as part of the RAF. Although mine will be a bit of a 'what if' as I'll be doing the Brit version but I'm still going to use the shark mouth decal!

Hi fellas,

Finally got chance to start this last night.

Started with the cockpit, kept things simple, just added some seat belts from masking tape.



That escalated quickly!!
Once the cockpit was done, everything fell together. Not one bit of filler needed, everything fits perfectly



That's what I got done last night, masking the canopy right now. Then she'll be ready for some paint.
