A new kit to torture.



Instructions are a double sided sheet of A4. There's colour on this one and a rigging diagram.





Decals are sufficient, I hope they are a bit better than the Nieuport 17 that I did.



Two sprues in the same bag. There's no transparency for the cockpit which is odd as on the paint scheme there is a screen.

Got the internals done. The call out says wood finish for the cockpit sides but according to the experten on the interweb they were actually mostly finished in silver dope. So XF16 and a bit of a dark wash. Not much detail on the sides but it's a biplane; you're not going to be able to see anything once it's buttoned up.



The cockpit is fairly sparse too. Seat belts courtesy of Tamiya tape and painted XF55 Deck Tan. They aren't as bright as they look in the photo. Dark washed to get some dirt on the floor. The bits that look black are actually mid grey. Seat finished in Vallejo Woodgrain. I do like that stuff, never comes out well in photos though.



The donk was done in Mr Metal ally and Iron. Brass pipes are Vallejo Model Colour Brass. Washed again and lightly dry brushed with XF16. The bottom of the engine can't be seen once it's buttoned up so wasn't too worried about it staying fairly shiny. It looks a bit washed out on the photo but I'm making do with an iPhone and my desk light.





I'll call it a night at that.

Must be about time to get some priming done. I think I'm going to use Alclad white primer as I haven't used it before and a large portion of the kit is in white.

Most of the job done now. Top wing and fuselage done in Tam white and red. Under wings done in X11. There was a tiny bit of bleed through on the white and red masking but you would have to look pretty carefully to spot it. Wing to stick on, a few ancillary bits and it's about done.

All finished and came to put the top wing on. It wasn't having it so it's consigned to the great bin in the sky. It was nowhere near close to fitting and after breaking off various struts etc in the process of trying to get the damn thing to line up I decided enough was enough. However I did get one last shot before disaster struck of the exhaust which I did in hull brown washed with ultimate rust which I though looked rather effective.
